I agree. Sure he loves (almost said "loved") showing off what he clearly practices every single day. Same with the speed, he was influenced by the baroque period in orchestral music which featured complex melodies like Vivaldi's winter.
Those songs aren't toe-tappers, yet they're are still amazing pieces, like Malmsteen.
@1robbie55382 Malmsteen hasn't had a drink in years. He also has legions of fans all over the world and makes a great living at what he does.I'm sure he will take your advice under consideration.LOL
Great vocals from Mr bonnet a much underrated vocalist 10/10 but
after ten mins listening to malmsteen I am bored, talented as he is, he lacks soul and depth for me. playing modes scales arpeggios at light speed is not what its about. Stevie ray vaughn Gary more Mark knopfler Satriani can all play fast but I would say that they are way better as they empart there fellings into the music that they play at what ever speed. Check out BACK TO SHALLABALL.. malmsteen gets a shoofercat 5 /10
I really can't see what the big fuss is about when it comes to Malmsteen. I find his guitar playing repetetive, boring and just too flashy. In my opinion, guys like Knopfler, Clapton, Gary Moore etc. are way better.
Graham shouldn't have to yell out the song over Yngwie's playing. He is extremely arrogant, but I have to agree, he's one of the best guitarists in the world.
@kmarcar Since Graham Bonnet taught himself to sing well above his actual octave he has to put a lot of power into it to force his voice that high. I like his singing but you NEED a loud band to go with it.
The ego makes for a guy that's impossible to work with...why do you think Yngwie hasn't been a constant guitarist in ANY band? His ego has harmed his career more that anything else...
I think I was at this concert... if it was in Hartford, CT, Malmsteen did a solo that was so loud, Graham actually said to the audience, "I keep telling him he's too f''ing loud, but he doesn't listen!" And Graham dedicated this song to my first husband, Ian Broad.
i love the story about the "unleash my fu***ng fury " in an plane to tokyo , when he thought he owned the plane & all passengers in it. lol , an ego & self confidence bigger than the universe !! he is a great guitar player though :-D
LOVE G BONNET.malmsteens ok but few payers on earth are at blackmores level as far as talent goes.I read once that after y malmsteen left bonnet he said."iv come to the conclusion that G BONNET IS not a very good singer"
As usual a bloody murder of Blackmore’s classic work by Malmsteen. At least he could have played the Stratocaster in place of that horrible sounding imitation of the Flying V.
I'll never forgot how great Yngwie is and what an inspiring guitarist. Graham Bonnet was also very good and underappreciated as a vocalist. I always thought it was because he didn't like looking like looking like a freak or a cliche of the aging long haired hippy type that some people just didn't like him because he waasn't on drugs and so by their definition he was somehow not cool. I don't think he cares about 24 idiots.
@coltsuperocean10 Shit yeh, I made the mistake of buying on of his instructional (hot lix) vids once. What a fucken tool he is. I don't know how he got his big ego in there to do the thing in the first place? and it ain't because he's talented. Take MAB for example: one hell of a nice guy and can smoke malmsteen half drunk I'll wager.
@coltsuperocean10 unchecked egos have hurt & held back WAY more bands then theyve helped , if ur truly talented , do ur thing with a lil humility and ur abilities will shine thru loud & clear
@coltsuperocean10 He might have an ego but at least hes not afraid to share his licks with other guitar players, not like a lot of other players I can mention who are scared people will steal their secrets, ever see a vanhalen or richie blackmoore instructional video with the players themselves teaching?
@coltsuperocean10 to be fair, thts what the whole guitar hero image is built on, and as much as i think blackmore is literally a guitar god, i think malmsteen's earned his ego, he's awesome! :D but yea, blackmore is much better!
ok I play guitar and I've played this song many times. I know it pretty well but watching the videos. this is the first vi where i've seen yngwie play on a V(or anything other than a strat)
I have to ask if anyone knows. what brand is that guitar? because I can't recognize the headstock, kinda looks like an ibanez but that's not possible and i doubt its a dean... im so confused. if anyone can reply to this then thank you so so much.
Malmsteen shouldn't have left Alcatrazz. Bonnet and Malmsteen were made for each other. They were like Blackmore and Gillan. Too sad they recorded only 1 album. This is Malmsteens best album. Bonnet made a lot unknown great albums!
The reason Graham Bonnet never became a big star is his difficult attitude, not his voice. He has worked with talented guitar players like Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Bob Kulick and Chris Impellitteri. But he never recorded more than one album with any of them. You do the math. Bonnet must have been green with envy when he realized how talented the teenage Swedish guitar virtuoso was.
I love the fact bonnet messed with YOUR stereotype of what a hard rock singer SHOULD look like. Short hair , No denim or leather , and his "hi ho hi ho - off to work we go " at 1:29 ...its brilliant and a breath of fresh air .
@Bloodline616 I was gonna take issue with ur comment and ask if u have seen Garry Cherone with Van Halen is singing "Jump" but man this takes the cake!!!!

That great voice can only take so much punishment!!...all those gigs !!! Its fine for Blackmore / Malmsteen etc with only the occasional blister on a "pinkie" to contend with!!
Graham's voice is finding those high notes harder to hit even on this early video!!.
