I used to camp there every weekend, when I was off-duty from Ft Bragg, about thirty years ago.. Sometimes the surf was great and other times, so-so. I remember when they officials would close the surf due to shark attacks. I went out anyway, figuring that no one would come out to get me.. a hammerhead shark came right up to me while I was sitting on the board, we looked each other into the eyes from five feet!! I paddled in at 80mph, it bolted the other way! Later that day 2 marines pull 6Ftr in
