Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal bought me here too the dance steps just like this film. But I also noticed like in Billie Jean there was a Tiger print rag on the pavement like in this film at 2:02 the inspiration is in Michael's earlier music short films before Smooth Criminal.

Also notice what Fred is saying when dancing with the women just like the lyrics to Michael's Dangerous song. :)

It's really great to see how much Michael was inspired by Fred Astaire.
