I'm an aspiring filmmaker myself and you know what sucks? I watched this film thinking "well, R.R. is fucking talented, but he must have sucked at some point. I'll check out his early shorts, in the hopes that they suck a little bit to get my hopes up about my future" but noooo... i check his short and is fucking brilliant. Robert Rodriguez is genius. I still dont believe you made Mariachi for $7500. Thats not even enought to cover film stock. Never the less, this film was awesome!

@Mr19after6 Man he definitely did it! And it was 7,000. It actually makes sense. He never did more than one take. And he didn't pay his actors, and he was his own crew. And he had friends who help make the music for the movie. It makes sense when you read his book and think about it.

Robert Rodriguez hace un cine diferente, apuntado claramente para un sector que lo sabe "entender". No es que sea complicado ni elitista, simplemente es diferente. Machete y D.P son geniales.

@TheYtsejam1928 ¿Para qué opinas de cuestiones que no conoces?, detesto el cine de Bay y el de Cameron tanto como el de Roberto, es la misma esencia pero con un poco mas de clase, el punto está en que Rodriguez no hace cine por que le gusta, lo hace por el dinero, todos lo hacen por el dinero, pero la mayoría lo hace también por gusto, el que lo hace por gusto, aun ganando malas críticas, como mínimo gana respeto, porque se lo merece, Rodriguez solo merece degradación.
