I love the works of Harmony Korine. With the exception of this overly long, self-indulgent drag of a recording. It's not a movie (Korine said so himself) but it would've worked better as a short film. You think there's some kind of pay off as you sit through those 70 painful minutes, but there isn't. This trailer is basically the whole thing. Watch "Gummo," it's not less disturbing, but makes you think and grabs you emotionally, unlike this.

If you liked this movie I suggest you see Giuseppe Andrews' Period Piece, then see how they stack up. It's similarly nihilistic and weird but has a more palpable sense of humor, and has a much more interesting cast of people taken from a local trailer park. More compelling than what are clearly 20-somethings in crappy makeup acting like assholes and cackling like retards.

I like the bizarre and twisted as much as any other guy. But, this movie was straight up bad. Absolutely everything about it was bad. It was the LONGEST 78 minutes of my life. Then, we watched The Life Aquatic and Steve's line "It's a documentary, this stuff is really happening, then we film it." and suddenly Trash Humpers made sense. It's not a movie. It's a first hand look into the director's ghetto ass interpretation of life. Btw, not scary at all. Just left feeling stupid after watching it.

When I went to see this in theatres...I was changed....This was a cinematic experience like no other. Christopher Nolan has done it again with "Trash Humpers" The score is amazing, consisting of a single cock snapping up to rape trash" The acting is spot on, with Christopher himself making a cameo, shagging an old trolley. Film of all time for sure.

Korine is really good with character development. I didn't really get that sense in this film. I was expecting to see something fresh. This was basically what it'd be like if I were to film a group of mentally ill individuals who went nuts at the idea of not being bound by authority. Good piece in a sense that there is an element of fright. Not much else stands to be of value. We need to see more from H. Korine.
