Arnel has a FANTASTIC voice. But- my opinion - he carries some of the notes way too long. The power of this song (original) is the sharpness of it, note-to-note. In fairness - only Steve Perry can do what he did. Even he probably can't even do it any longer.

Anyway - nice job. It's just not the same... and never could be.

@Arnel can sing it live with higher notes than Steve Perry's style which is more simple and not so emotional and touching. The x factor of Steve is his personality, he's just more appealing but when it comes to the flexibility of voice Arnel is excellent!

the only thing I have against Arnel is that he's way too 'melodic' with his singing..the necessary vocal quivering of each word...instead of belting it out like it was meant to be..and before any of you call me a SP fan..I"m a Journey Fan...been to DOZENS..yes DOZENS of J concerts over the years..even before SP..so I can voice my opinion...I've heard better than Arnel, even in tribute bands..

I was there- Floor 2 section JJ. They were fabulous seats, and one hell of a show!! Arnel did great!! Heart was also fantastic, Ann Wilson can still belt out the tunes at 59 years old !! Me and the love of my life had the time of our life. Can't wait until Journey is back in the tri-state area. WE WILL BE THERE- GUARANTEED

Man, I am torn.....I am glad that "Journey" rocks on, but songs like this are so closely associated with Steve Perry's vocals that this is pretty close to painful for me to listen to(3:25---ouch!).. i know Arnel has improved in the time he's been with the band and I hope that he creates his OWN signature sound with new songs. This just can't be MY Journey.

Arnel's voice has that timber that remains very solid and very manly even while evoking a certain sadness and heartrending emotions. It makes one fall in love all over again, or at least reminds one of a lost love. I haven't heard any singer who could have that effect on me. So beautiful... so touching. The best rendition so far. End of WCTNGOF "go on forever" should be sung in a high note just like the studio version, followed by another high wailing note "ever and ever..." should be there too, but was omitted because the chorus of Patiently, "one, one in a million" will do the ending... Great combination. unique in style and approach. Journey still rocks. EVER AND EVER !!!
