In his 1980 Playboy interview, John bitched that Paul should have let him sing Oh Darling. But Paul originally tried to do the song as a 2 part harmony with John, but John was so stoned that he couldn't keep up. So Paul ended up singing it solo during an Abbey Road session when John wasn't present.

@observer9670 Interesting........a shame that it wasn't recorded as a 2 part. A strong track, in my opinion anyways, Lennon's presence & ying to Paul's yang would have been awesome. Get a good feel for it here.....man, sure do miss the what ifs. The Playboy interview you referred to was like The Holy Grail to me for years afterwards. Actually it was one heck of an interview as I recall. Wouldn't mind refreshing my memory, it can be found online I'm sure...the quest begins. : ) Oh yeah thumbs up!

This is not a 'take' of "Oh Darling", folks. It's a rough "run through" at the Get Back sessions in February of 1969 (Billy Preston can be heard on the hammond). The proper recording sessions for this track would happen in late spring and summer later that year.

@Mechanismomusica Well at the time I made this vid I believed it was a take gone funny, but as i listened to it more over time and reaserched it I found it was a run through (a very interesting one at that). I totaly forgot about the get the Get Back sessions, sorry about that.
