If you love this movie. Check out "Greased Lightning". It came out a few years later in the 70s, after this great movie. It has Jeff's brother, Beau. Also staring Richard Prior and NO. It is not a comedy. It is the story of NASCAR first Black race car driver. The Late Great Wendell Scott. Great movie but hard to find.

@lookatmattscar Yea, Great/excellent movie! (Greased Lightning) Hard to find online/free, but Amazon has VHS $7/DVD $12 & there ARE a few downloads floating around, if you look. It's not "common", but it's not exactly "rare". BTW, Ever see "Heart Like a Wheel" a 1983 biographical film based on the life of drag racing driver Shirley Muldowney, starring Bonnie Bedelia and Beau Bridges? Good movie. Also, "3: The Dale Earnhardt Story" (TV 2004), starring Barry Pepper, was pretty good too.

This was better than Days Of Thunder. The hillbillies who transported white lightening started stock car racing. They got their experience from our running the revenuers.

Actually, it's a more modern retelling of the life of a MAN, Junior Johnson, the NASCAR driver and team owner. Oddly enough, the scene of the stock car flipping onto its roof is NOT in the movie. The movie has also been titled "Hard Driver". There's a lot to like about this movie, and not all of it has to do with cars and racing.
