People like to dress up in uniform, don't they? Crich is a working tramway museum in Derbyshire that plays host to several themed events throughout the year. The 'East Berlin' day has become an annual event in suitably drab November, which is supposed to recreate pre-1989 Berlin Wall era with people dressing up in East German uniforms and bringing their Iron Curtain cars like Trabants, Skodas and Tatras into the village main street. Its just a bit of fun for the punters.

Is that a home conversion? Some late Trabants and Wartburgs got factory installed VW Polo engines.

it was a home conversion, the previous owner fitted a brand new 1.2 panda engine and converted it to 12volt electrics. all in all he did a very neat job and it looks great. as for performance-40mpg and 60mph in 4wd i cant complain.

Hey, I went down there in my Triumph in August. It shook all my fillings out and all of the remaining rust in the car!
