  • @LewisHamilton1991 - Wow, comparing an F1 car to a Touring Car.... That's like comparing a twin engined big block blown offshore powerboat to a 3m tinny in 1m waves LOL!!!!!! You sir are a fucking dickhead. You may continue masturbating over $20mil cars now.

  • Hahaha 2:19 Murphy says the cutting has claimed alot of cars and then the fotgage goes to an inbord of ambrose being spun (and this is where it get ironic) by none other than murphy hahahah

  • thanks for the upload i hadnt seen that clip before

  • Dont campare to Nordschleife!

This track is Legendary and a shame it isn't in GT5 !!!!!

    Just FAB!

  • V8 use to be good to boring to slow now not that they were that fast. And with the likes of channel 7 ahah what a joke.. I cant wait till The Mclaren F1 hits bathurst.. it will destroy the v8 lol.. Just wish Hamilton was driving around not button & graig.

  • taxi races.

  • lol its funny swear f**k gears

  • @Brocky1969 the holy grail of motorsport? i reckon the nurburgring is the holy grail. Bathurst is obviously the holy grail of australian motorsport but not the "holy grail of motorsport"

  • @Tilly6ArrowKart Well said mate, all the Aussies commenting here need to relax and think about what they're saying. Bathurst is not the holy grail of motorsport, full stop.

  • God this track is awesome and my only experience with it is in TOCA Race Driver. Hell this track alone is why V8 Supercars are better than NASCAR. You Aussies are so lucky to have such a great track

  • Is there any others Australian track descriptions as this one on youtube?

  • bloody good vid mate

  • EPIC

  • it IS the most brilliant race track in the world, since the nurburgring isn't full lenght anymore

  • Anyone know what the winners purse is for the Bathurst 1000, and possibly how much a driver like tander or winterbottom make in a year?

  • v8 supercars looks more entertaining than f1

  • yeah, that just turned me off the whole idea of racing. lol

  • what's the count on Bathurst wins, Ford vs. Holden?

  • Thrilling video, and that was only 1 lap!!

  • @dan10024 160 to go haha

  • mark winterbottom looks about 9 years old

  • much love from UK its awsome is v8 ...or 5 litre

  • @britdemo 4.9 litre V8

  • v8 supercars is shit. its too expensive to run, with not enough revenue, only 2 manufacturers? epic fail bring back the r32 skyline

  • Comment removed

  • The statement "it's an amazing racetrack" is an understatement. It's THE ultimate track.

  • a ford and holden bathurst only? very boring, bring back the multi makes bathurst!!! the way it was and the way it should of stayed

  • @the124Lscania well there are the GT races eg . . the 2003 bathurst 24 hour endro which ran all kinds of cars but was won 1st and 2nd by a pair of 427 powered monaro's go figure

  • At 4:07 it sounds like Craig said " ...Fuck gears when the little red light goes on"

  • @guarana80

    Pluck gears ;)

  • he does

  • @guarana80 hahah i played it 4 times i think he says it too, but the best bit of action is 4:11 wi that foord sliding flat out

  • @britdemo i like the part at 4:23 when that Ford is sliding sideways wide open... =)

  • @ViperKeeper2070 oh yea thats mental, basicly sideways at 290k's .......huge balls lmao

  • @britdemo yeah, no kidding.. This stuff is SO much better that that NASCAR crap we have in the states.

  • @ViperKeeper2070 yea it is shit, but even the brittish touring cars is getting shit now.i watched it a few days a go and turned it off it was boring compared to this

  • @britdemo Just crazy...sideways at damn near 300kms/hr...

  • @guarana80 thats wat his saying though!!

  • @guarana80 i have seen this like a million times and he does say fuck gears

  • @guarana80 "Pluck" gears.... -.-

  • @guarana80 Pluck

  • @guarana80 He did......

  • @guarana80 He did...LOL

  • What an awesome clip

  • the best vid iv seen in a long time i watch it every year since i was 5 but CAMS OFFICALS are fucking the whole series with to many rules and restrictions i want a race with NO LIMITERS AND heaps SPRINT TIERS it is no longer a race of endurence just a long sprint race AND 1 more thing what % of ethnol do NASCAR run in there fuel???????????

  • NASCAR is pretty boring :/

  • That Ozemail rear ender happend right in front of me.. It was huge.

  • Why is there talk of Nascar on a Bathurst clip? You can not compare Australia V8,s with Nascar.

As good as Nascar is to watch, you put any one of those drivers in a V8 Supercar, around Mt Panorama, Bathurst and they will have marbles in there pants. Ambrose is the exception of course. Of most of the overseas drivers who have competed at Bathurst, most could not believe how unbelievable the circuit is. "The Holy Grail of Motorsport".

  • Even Ambrose could never get it. He dominated the series for 2 (Maybe 3?) seasons, but EVERY year at bathurst, his performance was appauling.

  • Nah, the tyres always had problems. In 04 he had bad luck with a late saftey car and looked like winning before that. In 05 he had Murphy.

The SBR cars were just crap on their tyres when it was warm at Bathurst.

  • @SDcrazybiker He was running about 5th with 15 laps remaining before the accident with murphy at the cutting.... but yeah, he really sucked at the mountain

  • @Brocky1969

It's a great track but nothing compares to the Nurburgring, the Nordschleife.

  • @450hp202turbo Get a grip mate!

  • @Pigeon1888 sounds like you get a grip to offen mate!

  • @450hp202turbo emmm.

  • @450hp202turbo Ever heard of the 24 Hours of Le Mans? I dunno, but a race that involves going twice and sometimes even three times the distance of the 1000km Bathurst over a course that lasts 8 miles sounds a lot harder. Add in the fact that they're breaking upwards of 220-230mph in cars that have virtually no suspension travel, and you've got yourself a brutal race. Way more brutal than Bathurst, and Bathurst ain't easy.

  • @Brocky1969 Yeah right mate.....

  • @Brocky1969 ...but I counter that Marcus Ambrose is not doing good at all in NASCAR. So apparently if you took a V8 Supercar diver and put him in a NASCAR ride, he'd have the same result as a NASCAR driver in V8s: poor. That's because they're both best at their individual kind of motorsport. It's the same reason you don't take a tennis player and put him in a football team.

  • @Brocky1969

trust me dont underestimate nascar drivers

  • You gotta love Mt.Panorama, can't wait for this year

  • I wish I could be there to see it for myself. Or at least watch the broadcasts. Sadly, I'm a U.S. fan, so unless SPEED Channel gives V8SA another look (which it should), then none of that good stuff for me :(

Oh well. That's what YouTube is for, eh? :P

  • 4. Now that all this is done, time to appeal. Instead of appleaing to the whole "American Spirit" bull shit, branch out into the world. Its the top tier stock car racing series in the world so let it flex its muscles by heading overseas to places like Silverstone, Hokenhiem, Monza, Suzuka, and any other major Gran Prix track in the world. I don't think you can be the best in the WORLD if you're stuck in one country.

  • 3. DROP THE UNIFORM ENGINES!!! Adding a little more Stock in stock car racing. Make the teams run the stock engines that the manufactures put into their cars. EX: Ford runs the 5.0, the 4.7, or god forbid the Ecoboost. Chevy runs the LS3, Dodge runs the 5.7L Hemi, and Toyota comes up with a V8 they can cram into the Camry. The teams build upon those platforms rather than the uniform 305 (or 350, can't remember).

  • 2. Bring back the SC in NASCAR. The COT is not a stocker. You can't buy ANYTHING like it from any of the manufactures. The way it should be is that the teams buy the car from the lot, build it up to specs, add all the needed tires, suspension, safety equipment, and let em' loose. And on the subject of specs...

  • 1. MORE ROAD COURSES!!! Its 36 races a year and 4 track types (Speedway, Short Track, Superspeedway, Road Course). When you do the math, it comes out to 9 of each track each season, though I say bump it up to 18 maybe more for Road Courses.

  • I believe that when it comes to racing, there are F1 Drivers, Indycar Drivers, Stock car drivers, and touring car drivers, but then there are Racecar Drivers, those that can run well in all different types of cars on different types of tracks.

  • and the newest one, my favorite Marcos Ambrose. wins multiple championships in V8SC then goes to NASCAR nad wins races. I believe that these drivers having the ability to drive all different types of cars, from the small, light, open wheel cars, to the heavy stock cars, plus them winning on both ovals and road courses in the different styles of cars makes them the best in the world.

  • I do feel that you have to look at NASCAR to find some of the best drivers. Dont take that statement wrong, im not saying that if your not in NASCAR then your not good, but when it comes to racing a lot of the top drivers in the world have gone to NASCAR. Like Tony Stewart who has won a championship in seemingly everything, NASCAR, IndyCar, and all the dirt racing. Then theres Juan Pablo, Cart Champ, Won races in Cart, Indycar, F1, and NASCAR. Mario Andretti won races in Cart, F1 and Nascar

  • the thing i wonder is, with NASCAR being as big as it is, and watched by as many different countrys as it is, then why dont these other countrys have oval tracks. Besides Motegi, when do you ever see a high profile racing series on an oval outside the US.

  • Totally agree with you. And I believe the answer to your first statement is the very same thing me and GoWfan said. Oval racing is bland. And Nascar isn't as big as it used to be. They still broadcast in various countries, but its not nearly as watched as it once was.

The way I see it, Nascar needs to do these things in order to become even bigger and gain some of its reputation back....

  • Marcos Ambrose has drinen in this series right? and he is great at NASCAR after such a short time? That probably tells u that the V8 SUpercars and NASCAR are pretty similar!

  • The only thing Nascar and V8's have in common is weight. Other than that, these cars are slightly less powerful but the same torque, different body styles, different tires, and V8's can race in the rain.

And V8's were at one point ROAD LEGAL CARS. I say either bring V8's to the U.S. or Nascar needs to take a few pointers from this series. Its not if, its WHEN Nascar bores the hell out of everyone.

  • probably tells us that nascar sucks balls and any hodgepodge driver can do it

  • Hi guys....

I agree with most of you you think NASCAR is boring and so.

Well, still great motorsport event but the rules are dumb enough to put you away from it or at least choose V8 Supercars from NASCAR.

If it rains, stop the race...

If someone scratch the wal, stop the race

If the wind lead a leave into the tarmack, stop the race...

If someone spins without leaving any single square inch of scratching in the wall, stop the race...

I mean... what's the point of racing like this?

  • Great video, thanks. Not a huge nascar fan here, but the majority of you have your head up your ass if you dont think nascar drivers can race! No skills? thats why F1 champ like Juan has dominated hu? Very few drivers could handle a turn three cars wide 200 plus mph! Nascar is rarely a parade lap race!

  • Why did ambrose go to nascar if the competition is lower? Simply put nascar is the most competitive racing with the best drivers in the world. I would like to see more road races, but oval racing makes for super high speeds, close racing, lots of passing, and crashes.

  • Best drivers in the world?!!!!! Oh my god you don't have a clue, do you?!!

  • Agreed, last time a NASCAR driver raced at Bathurst he crashed in the first 5 laps.

NASCARs is the most boring and skillless (I know, not a word) form of motorsport only liked by redneck americans who fuck their sisters.

  • No. Nascar does NOT have the best drivers in the world. Not that on the Road Courses that its always someone different while at the speedways its the same all around.

Forget speedway racing, its gone bland and boring. I wanna see a TRUE test of skill. Nascar needs more road courses. ALOT more road courses.

  • Ditto. The sheer lack of road courses in NASCAR is why I've almost completely lost interest in it. Watkins Glen and Infineon Raceway just aren't enough. More, please.

  • haha... great place bathurst.

if nascar was like this. it would be popular everywhere

  • luv frostys way of describing the cutting

Nick the mirror on the way in nick the mirror on the way out

  • Yank NASCAR drivers can't handle this track.

  • are these things loud?

  • No they are a bit quiter than formula 5000

  • 3:23 Lowndes.... classic

  • LOL! at 4:07

  • It's really too bad Nascar can't be more like the Aussie V-8 series. Instead they all look alike, not in the least bit resembling an actual street vehicle. Race only two road course races per season, not to say oval racing sucks but it does get old when you visit multiple tracks with VERY similar layouts. I wish the V-8 supercars would come do an exhibition race here in Daytona during speed weeks, running the road course, would be something to watch for sure. Thank god for our Grand-am and ALMS!

  • its a great race for people who a right into the rivalry of ford vs holden, and its not like they use the best engine out, there sticking to the old 308 nothing else, and jap cars these day go fast but are twice as light and have been worked ten times as hard to get to where they are today

  • I totally agree with u, except that I might be more into NASCAR than u r!

  • I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes watching that !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe they're just glad the race is over when they win and they made it...It must take a week to come off that high !!

  • amazing video thanks so much for posting. me and my dad always watch bathurst in the home theatre for the whole 6-7 hours its amazing

  • They should do one of these for the clipsal track, next to bathurst probably the hardest

  • fantastic..that pretty much sums it up..161 laps 6-3/4 hours 1000 kilometers..

  • Jap Cars ARE SHIT. FUCK YOU

  • must...move...to australia

  • F1 Just can't compare to this anymore, RIP F1.

  • I have to agree!! the raw sound of them is music to my eyes compared to those screaming f1 engines. and the racing is closer and you can actually watch an entire race without falling asleep.

  • F1 will always be the best, did you see the race in Brazil? championship won in the last corner!

  • Yeah I gotta agree that F1 is way better. The coverage isn't the best in Australia but I just download the full telecast from the UK later :)

  • Every F1 race is broadcast live on Chanel 10 or 1. Has been that way for a while now.

  • @Raveneyes so it should be considering the massive amount of money that is put into F1 . put that kind of money into these cars then fucking compare them. 1 V8 supercar team cost roughly $3 million a year to run which includes spare engine's / transmission ect .ect.... no it would be Less than that . F1 drivers alone make atleast 5 times that EACH ???????

  • Yep 4:26 is more a matter of holding on for dear life. What u got there is a decending and turning breaking zone is 6th gear. Imagine a little to much rear brake, less fuel in the back of the car and worn tires and the rear might just unhook at 300 kph...

Pure racing... though he should have known he had to much rear brake

  • This is one of my favorite tracks to watch a race at. Truly amazing!!

  • yeahh he is a good racer but yeahh nott good at qualifiying he more able to put on the presure in races but in qualifiy the pressure must be to much

  • What's the deal with drifting all the time?

First time was at 2:36, the second at 3:22 and the thrid at 4:26.

Russel Ingall.. you did it twice

  • sorry for the late reply butt... i dunno if uu understand the power that they got going to the back wheels of these cars.. the first 2 drifts were from a lil while agoo and the grip wasnt as good as todays and with the last one he was going just under 300 km/h and to turn into a corner at that speed the force that pushes the bacl of the car out is unbelievable and its a miricale they keep it straight

  • ingall is a good racer, but he always fucks up the qualifying.

  • wow!

  • Blinding!

Could the Holden's and Ford's keep pace with the Porshe's and BMW's in Le Mans? Might not be built for turning as well as the euro touring cars...

(isn't Ferrari in that class now too in Le Mans racing?)

  • probably not but then again they are built for different styles, could those cars keep up with a V8 supercar around bathurst?

  • I agree quacka, it's definitely comparing apples and oranges. However, N-GT class cars have competed there in the '02 and '03 Bathurst 24 hour races. The pole time in '03 was a 2:13:2 in a Monaro 427C. Compare that with this years 2:07:1 and the comparison is pretty favourable to the big aussie monsters.

  • long live Mt Brock!!

  • it is great to see drivers give ther perspectice of the track.

  • best track ever, with the best cars ever!!!!!!!! i love it!!!

  • this clip is way too awesome, I never get bored watching it

  • amazing

  • bloody excellent alright this is the greatest race ever i can't wait for it every year!!!!!!!!!1

  • That is a totally awesome video. Thanks for putting on youtube :)

I love Lowndes saying 'Oh crap' coming into Skyline and the different perspectives of all the drivers of the whole track. Brilliant!
