@waz221221 I applaud Amare. Anyone can see he is a spirtual intelligent man. If only more people of the world had the opportunity to learn Torah and Judiasm, the world would have more peace and less antisemitism. But the world is full of false hoods propogated by hate groups. G-d bless Amare. Avraham brought people to torah, Ruth was a convert and thus the Moshiach will come from such roots, as was Unculus, the major commentary on the torah. The list is endless. Many Tannaim, etc.

@michaelfr613 Ruth was a Moabite. The Messiah sprang from the tribe of Juda not Moab. She cleaved to Israel, but she was not an Israelite. She gleaned the fields after the reapers as a stranger (Ruth 2:15) as in the law (Deut 24:21) and Boaz did not stop her. She was used as purpose to raise up seed for Israel. Boaz was kin to the Elimelech. So was Obed a Moabite? Being a Jew from the mother is straight nonsense (Num 1:2, Num 1:18, Ezra 2:59)

@waz221221 Everyone learned in Torah knows that King David came from Ruth, a convert to Judaism. You can read the lineage written plainly in the scriptutre. You are either not Jewish or an ignorant, unlearned Jew. You are mixing apples and oranges by quoting census passages. Tribal affiliation is patrilineal. For example a jew with a father from Judah and a mother from Asher belonged to the tribe of Judah. Although Jewish determination is according to the mother, any sincere person can convert.

@michaelfr613 Nationality goes by the seed. Boaz went into Ruth who was a Moabite and produced Obed. Obed was an Israelite because of his father. Likewise to Jesse and then to David. Yes Ruth was Davids great great grandmother but David is who he is by the fathers.

@waz221221: Are you kidding me? The whole section you are referring to is once again part of counting of the returning Israelites (those that ascended from exile in Babylonia) by family name. When returning to Israel, the count is according to family name, tribe, in order to reclaim the land (which was divided according to father's tribes). You can quote English out of context all you want. Come to Israel (no sarcasim intended) and I'll help you understand the real meaning (in Hebrew).

So is this a count only by family name or tribe? "Father house" yes. But what about SEED and whether they were of ISRAEL? meaning NATION? Thats not just a family name or tribe.

@waz221221 Look, I understand what was going on in Ezra. This account was on counting them. But this particular scripture also shows you are not a Jew or Israelite thru your mothers. It thru the seed of your fathers. Not only could they not show their FATHER HOUSE (family name as you said) but also THEIR SEED AND WHETHER THEY WERE OF ISRAEL. All I'm saying you are who your father is - NOT
