How much would a beetle like this be worth? I really want to get an old beetle, but I dont know if it would be economically worth it (i know they get good mileage, but does such an old car require a lot of $ to keep running?) Thanks!
It would definitely be economically worth it! You can buy fully restored Beetles for as low as $5,000! They do not require a lot of money to keep running, as they are VERY reliable cars! Thats why you see mine running, after 47 years!
Wow! You have a real gem! And no worries on the reliability part! I have -never- been stuck on the side of a road with a mechanical issue. Since yours is all original, I suggest you at least look i over, and replace any worn or damaged parts...just for safety. ACVWs were made to last...and your car is proof of it! Take care of that gem, man!
Thanks. Well, I just found the logo online made it bigger and printed it out on half n half on 2 pieces of paper. Then cut it out, layed it on some contact paper, and put it on the car. then i cut out the eagle from the contact paper, then paint. Sounds complicated, i know. but its not, haha. I may see if i can get a tutorial going.
Thanks for the compliments! The shape of the back end has relatively stayed the same all throughout the Beetle life (besides the New Beetle, of course) And nope, my fenders are 100% stock.
And to clarify, the fenders didnt really change throughout the years either. Mainly the tail lights changed, which can cause the fenders to seem to have more flow.
yeah thanks man. i am still doing some research, and i compared pictures and now i can tell the differences. Yours is a type 1 right? i like those the best.
Im just getting into ratrod vws. Do the older ones (around 62 63 have a less steep back end, or hood or whatever you call it on a bug. I like the sloped look, how its smooth from front to back.
Love the car, and thank you for not chopping the fenders like alot of people do, this looks way cooler.
thats sweet!

Awesome! Definitely keep it original, man. Not many full original Ovals riding around. Best of luck with it!

my opinion is that the only thing that doesn't match the car is the rear number plate frame

Well if you look very closely at my latest video "Speed Run", you will see that I no longer have that plate frame. ;)

I love this car!! I am trying to find another beetle and put my new Golf to the side for a while. I miss my flat four sooo bad.

Wow
That must have been the easiest start up in a Beetle ever

Haha, just take care of the motor, and its always like that!

That's awesome. I'm selling my Camry, so my Beetle will be my only car for a few years. I hope it gets to be this easy and reliable.
The decal on the door is pretty cool looking too, btw

adding on to my last comment: is it the fendes that are different? they seem to have more of a flow.
