I thought that too...I was getting pretty pissy myself! I was trying to delete old profile pictures and had the same problem. I you have the timeline it's different.

For the new timeline: click on the picture you want to delete. And to the right of your picture is that white area that gives you the option to edit/tag and so on. In the upper right corner is what I think is supposed to be a gear. Click on the gear. The delete option is there now.

if you have timeline go on the weird button that looks like an 0 but has pointy things around it and click it and press delete this photo :)

This is only true to a certain point! YES, your photo's get deleted from Facebook where you can't see it in your photo's section. But in reality, you've deleted NOTHING. Facebook still has all the photo's loaded. Don't believe me? Try this. Go to JibJab.com and do one of those funny videos. When it asks to load pictures choose "FROM FACEBOOK" instead of from your computer. BAM! There you will see photo's and stuff that you thought you deleted YEARS ago! Why are they still there?! FB keeps them!

This is ALL A LIE! Yes, it deletes your photo but facebook still keeps them. Try going to JibJab and create one of those funny videos. There's an option to use photo's from facebook. So far so good. BUT!!! when you click on that option, it brings up photo's you may have deleted 2 fricken YEARS AGO! So NO you CANNOT delete ANYTHING from Facebook. Try my experiment out. You'll see that I'm not lying.
