VH45DE in 2010 season, yes, but now VRH34, similar like VHR35 from Infinity INDY race car. Same displacement engine using Honda, but Honda's power plant is developed from Formula Nippon.
@nbaalltheway Super GT rules, when you're in the pits, engine has to be off. After work is done the engine has to start itself up with no external power sources.
@CasterTown If U so like your fucking Honda why are U watching movie about GT-R? I'll tell you - because you know you want That Nissan. Honda was the best in 90' when they had VTEC engine 1.6 DOHC 160HP. Now Nissan is the King.
Ooooh my god. Just shut up. I never said anything about this gt-r. I think its fucking awesome to be honest. Thats why I'm watching this video, you dork. I just wanted to bring to your attention that you don't know shit about cars if you make statements like "this GT-R is better than ANY honda" when this exact GT-R was left in the dust by a Honda in last year's Super GT series.
@ShogunToyo Nissan always relied on turbos to get power out of their engines. Turbo tuning isn't difficult. N/A tuning on the other hand takes a lot of engineering. Honda has done thing with both N/A and Turbo engines at the pinnacle of racing, that neither Nissan or Lexus has achieved. Everyone in Japan knows that the NSX was the King of JDM for the longest time. Then the R35 came to take over but shortly after the LFA came and claimed that position.
@ShogunToyo The NSX ate the GT-R. A car that had more potential and was better engineered than the R32, 33, 34. Designed in the 80s released in 1990. It took Nissan 18 years before they came out with the R35 in 2008 to beat it. In Super GT, the NSX was always crippled with restrictions due to the advantages it had over the GT-R and Supra. 2007 The NSX crushed Nissan and Lexus. Takata NSX won record amount of poles and smashed almost every course record. Records that are still held today.
i'm looking at the comments, and saying he stalled. who gives a fuck, he won the race. you don't see an american car turn as good as that well.. american cars cant even turn for shit.
Anyone complains about the driver 'stalling' while take off is a douchebag. Last time I checked it's about winning the race. There's no style points in stalling while taking off. I bet if you try to drive one of these, you'll just die out...
".. a lot of these racers aren't good at take of when being in the pit." --lol
-Can you imaginge that it could be the clutches itself. In every Raceseries over the planet people stall cars with RACECLUTCHES. Do you really think they ALL aren't good at it?
Had a MKII GTI with raceclutch. No one, really no one could take off in the wet without spinning wheels or stalling the car. In dry cond. everybody stalled it, too ;-) In the end one can say they aren't made for slow driving
@takahys I believe one of the driver fro the Motul Autech team, Benoit Treluyer is even on the Audi Team racing at this year's (and last year's) Le Mans. Of course this year he'll be driving in the new R18.
@c312eal Not defending them but I haven't seen very many honda drivers that suck... Mainly speeders yes, but worst drivers I see in the bay area are people with buicks, pontiachs and chevy silverados and most newer bmw drivers... otherwise I just see a lot of speeders in audis, mustangs, corvettes and riced out civics... but speeders are pretty normal to see speeders here as well as people who drive 10~15mph slower than the speed limit...
@AznPryd4Life Yuji Ide, Ralph Firman, Izawa. The list goes on. They're not good drivers. Nissan and Lexus has better drivers. They pay more so drivers are attracted to them more. Ito was picked up by Lexus after he won a championship with ARTA. I'm not talking about on the street, but in Super GT. The car brand doesn't really matter. You said buick drivers are bad but if you put Senna in a buick or a pontiac, you wouldn't be saying that.
@c312eal Aha my bad dude, thought you were talking generally; most people on car vids usually do... anyway yes I agree on that. But yeah as for buick drivers in general (where I live) that are terrible are mainly just kids 18~24 and some really old people, otherwise they're pretty normal...
Gees, you guys have NO idea what you're talking about.
First, the driver didn't stall. He TURNED-OFF the engine at the pit because that's the regulation of the Super-GT! Every single Super-GT driver does that at every single pit stop.
Second, there's no such thing as "e-brake" in these race cars!
sure, it's called "GT-R", but it's not a modified road GT-R. It's a purposely built race car that has a racing engine on it. They only made the car to look like a GT-R, and call it GT-R.
@takahys actually he did stall it, you can clearly see him move the engine die him stop restart and move again, even pro drivers mess up especially with a slow start and a clutch like that.
@takahys thats right, the car is actually a modified GT-R, with a Nissan President engine modified for racing. GT500 regulations don't allow turbo cars, so they use the NA President engine.
@c312eal it just sounds different then other gt500 cars so far and it was a surprise, and it kinda sounds like F1 car but it doesnt come close by far to a real 90's F1 car. people are overreacting watching the youtube vids. you have to hear all cars in reallife to make a judgement about it (mics cant capture car sounds at all, its also 100% different in reallife and not just the volume). and in the end everyone has different taste.
@mkampinga It's not people overreacting watching the youtube videos. People racing and watching in the SuperGT know how AMAZING the HSV sounds. Lexus and Nissan teams have all compared the sound of the HSV to a F1 car. And like you said a mic cannot capture the turn sound of a real life car and if the HSV sounds better than the GTR in video, I'm pretty sure it sounds better than it in real life. Theres a reason why theres so much hype in Japan over the HSV.
It's not just the volume of the HSV sound, but the pitch. Honda racing admitted that they could've chose a exhaust to give the HR10EG better performance but they wanted that "Honda" sound. This sound has captured the attention of not only the crowds but also Nissan and Lexus teams. Majority of people in Japan like the sound of the HSV over the other GT500 cars. It's the sound of Honda's F1 days powering McLaren with Senna behind the wheel. Japan loved Senna.
@geforce5591 Clearly you haven't heard the sound of the HSV. I'm not saying that the GTR doesn't sound good here. It sounds great but the HSV just sounds like a F1 car. The GTR definitely has a RAWR to it but the HSV exhaust note has that N/A engine SCREAM like the ones in F1. Youtube Epson HSV part 2. In that video you'll hear the HSV, GTR and the SC430.
Does a Super GT spec GT-R run on a v8 engine + rear wheel drive format just like a FIA GT1 spec GT-R? and which car has more horse power and better aerodynamic package?
Yes I agree, awesome sound! I just love the sound of those GT cars. and...... especially those corn kernels popping under the hood. They can't pop them forever or else they are going to scorch.
