  • @TheJrak47

Hey man. Check out Kevin Mitchell Pad Workout. It's proper pad work like this vid. Hope u like it. :-)

  • That's what I call a real Pad Work...it makes him feel like he is in a real fight. Well done guys!

  • i have watched 100s of ppl doing mitt work and i always come back to this one itz like art. iam working on the whole routine i wanna get it down

  • this is the best padwork ive ever seen from a trainer

the trainer is doing 90% of the work hes 2nd to none that man

great trainer one of the best in the business and ive only seen 3 minutes of him

ive seen thousands of hours of boxing and he is the best trainer ive seen on the pabs

  • Boxing is beautiful, so it is the pad work shown in this video. I'm a karateka and i'd really loive to implement a boxing/thai boxing/mma mitt work in my training, I think that it's one of the best training methods around :)

Thanks for the beautiful video ;)

  • awesome that old mans a bad ass with mitts incredible

  • Im glad to see some real pad work. Everybody wanna do the Mayweather pad work. Not saying what mayweather does isnt good cuz he is one of the best fighters. But my step faher Ray Lampkin which was a pro fighter back in the day, always tell me that its not the mitt work that makes the fighter. Alot of the times u see a fighter hit the mitts like he is a grat fighter but cant fight in the ring. The fighters back in the day are better than the fighters today, my opinon. Good video!

  • CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL ! got some Pad Workouts ! new videos coming soon . COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE ! thnx.

  • skills!!

  • huge mitts :p

  • I noticed that alot of the jabs were thrown in range off no forward movement. This can be adverse if a boxer starts shortening up his jab range. This is what you need in the early part of a fight... the time when no one wants to get hit and you wanna hit your opponent with scoring punches as opposed to knockout punches (skirmish).

  • Keep it up. i've put my video on here

  • the mitts can be used in many diff ways......but this here is good . Is this coach Davis in D.C area?

  • I prefer to utilize both types of mitt work routines, they both have their benefits, the mayweather style drills develop reaction, conditioning, timing and hand speed and the more conventional style drills helps sharpen and develop the thinking part of the sweet science, as well as ring movement and balance while throwing shots so in my opinion both styles are extremely important tools to have as a trainer....PROUD LION

  • Did Ricky Hatton say that right before he got knocked out by Mayweather?

  • @Heffey02 Yeah, I wouldn't have quoted Hatton when it comes to him critiquing Floyd. One is still undefeated and number on pound for pound, the other got ruined when they fought and retired a few fights later.

  • @Heffey02 teach

  • are you retarded? All trainers use the mitts this way, you think that guy would beat Floyd? Floyd uses it for accuracy, speed, and coordination. Sharpening your reflexes and simulating a fight is what SPARRING is for. I always laugh when guys who obviously have never been in a boxer's shoes try to comment on boxing

  • @RurouniYume Thank you somebody with brains!

  • Nice work

  • yeah except you're standing in front of the guy, even worse than mayweather. I incorporate movement while throwing punches

  • dat shyt aint real... u aint even streaching his arms.. !!!!!! hahaha dis shyt funni as hell

  • I think he has little defence cos he looks really tired.

  • dont forget ya opponent throws punches aswell, move and keep ya elbows in and gaurd up

  • been knocked out by now,no defence

  • mayweather uses mitts to refine his techniques. Then to punch with impact like everyone else..What he does is all to do with the Developing of quickness with in his mind with the maintenance of speed, stamina and rhythm all at the same pace and volume.

ps: floyd knocked hatton out by the way.

  • "Everybody is so amazed and fascinated by the Mayweather mitt routine. But like Ricky Hatton said, who is gonna stand there and let you do all that?" I disagree with Hatton. Floyd's mitts work is designed to give him a sense of rhythm which is completely unorthodox from how mitts work was invented for - combinations and learning angles. Even if Floyd's method is incorrect - he proves in the ring that he wins, even against Ricky Hatton. Just for the record that I'm not even a Mayweather fan.

  • @vmfelix Yes, and quite as kept, FLOYD DOES NOT EVEN THROW PUNCHES IN COMBINATION MOST OF THE TIME!!!!!!! He throws sharp single shots most of the time, so in that light, the pad work is used for reflex, not to get him punching in a string. His method is not "incorrect" because it serves the purpose! Mike Tyson would not have benefited from that style although a meldrick Taylor would have.

  • @CLEVELEFS nice to know someone who answers with intellect in these forums! Thumbs up buddy!

  • @vmfelix Well thanks much!!! If you look at my channel I am a bit controversial, but I know what I am taking about. Marvin Hagler, Ray Robinson, Duran, Benitez, Leonard, Ike Williams, Ali (should have been first lol), Sal Sanchez, Alexis Arguello, Arron Pryor, Pernall Whitaker, Chavez, Azumah Nelson, Hearns!!! None of them were trained by Roger or Floyd sr and many would have beaten Floyd! I think floyd is good (tired of his mouth though), but boxing was not invented by him.

  • @CLEVELEFS You answered swiftly.

  • @dragonfist25 Thank you for your compliment! I will be putting up some videos shortly that I think you will like. I will sub you as a friend to stay in touch for when I do. I ge in some "trouble" cause people get caught up into fighters they like in a personal sense and that is not boxing.

  • the mayweathers deserve praise for their training methods just like many other coaches. the problem is that few people can decipher what they are actually looking at, like Roger says "most people don't know shit about boxing". unless and until you train, fight or study a lot you'll never gain true appreciation for the subtle lethalness of these training methods. ricky hatton was a pug to began with. I will remember this name Adrian Davis. Thanks for posting, not for hating.

  • @teachm3539 The pad work if possible should be tailored to the fighter. That is what I do and I get fast results. For best results the pad work should be a routine that the fighter masters over a short period of time. he or she should work the routine in cycles because to slow down to tell the fighter takes enough time away from the routine to make it different than a fight. Pad work should imitate as much as possible the pace of a fight. Knowing a cycle and going through it sets a good pace..

  • @CLEVELEFS Amen

  • @vmfelix Thanks! I have just started my channel (by request) and I will be putting my own videos up to help people with boxing, karate, MMA, etc. A lot of people are not historians as I am (it also helps to be 50). Floyd Mayweather is a very good fighter, but he learned the philly shell from his father/uncle and they were not the first to use it. Here is one for you! JAMES TONEY USED THE PHILLY SHELL BETTER THAN FLOYD! other fighters to use it: Ezzard Charles (the 50s), Archie Moore,

  • Nice work!

  • only thing i like about this video is the quality

  • check out: 'Isaac Tadeo speed work'

...some mitt work, nothing fancy just getting it in.

  • Finally some real pad work! Tired of all this mayweather wanna be tip tap toe ish mitt work and when it comes time to sparr they can't!!! Great job!!!

  • Wheres Grady?

  • im knackered by just watching that!

  • what a trainer

    great session

  • this is some effin padwork

  • I never get why I get critisized by my friends when they compare boxing and MMA, when boxing is apart of MMA. Theyll say stuff like boxing doesnt compare this, that but boxing is just but one aspect that composes MMA. Tsk tsk. Even so boxing is still beautiful to me.

  • @iverson25allen The biggest difference is white guys predominately do mma because they don't have the speed and power to be usually good in boxing. The ability to lunge in and wrestle takes away the advantage of the physically dominant minority athlete. Yes elbows to the face is pretty fun to watch, but you will never see a white boxer with the abilities of a Mayweather or Tyson,or for that matter a Caucasian being the fastest man(100 yard dash) title in the world.

To each his own I guess.

  • @flatpat I get you completely. It isnt absurd to think that each race of man has his own attribute, especially when sport is involved. There are certain things you expect a black guy to do better than a white guy, or not as good as a white guy or indian guy *Im sure you get where im going*. But the beauty of boxing isnt just in its physicality, if your a super strong but not so smart infighter, your bound to lose to an intelligent out fighter or another infighter. Thats another reason why I....

  • @flatpat ...I love boxing. It can go either way, especially if the fighter has the heart for it.

  • @iverson25allen Well they are quite different, apart from when MMA athletes train for striking, Boxing in my opinion is better, (I like both) But only compete in boxing. If an MMA fighter had a fight with 10 ounce gloves and using queensbury rules against a boxer they wud 9 out of 10 loose, Each MMA athlete is great in 1 area and average to ok in other areas, except the freaks like GSP or Anderson silva, however both wud loose at boxing against Pacman for GSP and Haye or andre ward for silva.

  • very, very nice pad work

  • nice... i want him to train me too

  • ur shorts are falling down

  • great mit work! need to try out some of that.. looks like it would take time to get to be able to work the mits like that. good stuff

  • anyone who doesn't have the ability to train using the mayweather mittwork (and I mean the physical ability; not the inability because of lack of someone to do it with or other inconveniences) is obviously a pretty un-athletic and uncoordinated person and is never going to be a good boxer anyway

  • So everything that you would do in a fight anyway

  • it trains REFLEXES and allows the fighter to get into the ring and have the ability to simply react to every punch coming at them without thinking about it. By react I mean blocking, slipping, ducking, and countering.

  • hahahahaha, you obviously don't know the first think about boxing; this video is complete bullshit and that is terrible mittwork and a terrible boxer. The mayweather mittwork is the best kind of mittwork period; if you knew anything about boxing you would know that.

  • this is pad work at it's best, would love to train with this guy.

  • This is bad-ass. The trainer simulates the angles of incoming punches with no break which is good for a fighter who is tired and fighting on fumes. Too many times I see boxers punch in bursts with the pads and then stop to reset. I know there's no perfect way to do this but the style of it makes sense.

  • I guess you don't release that what Mayweather does is called reflex training, to train your defence, counter punching, speed and REFLEXES.... the same defence, counter punching, speed and reflexes that won him 9 world titles in 5 different weight classes and put Hatton on his backside twice in the 10th.... reflex training, the clue is in the name, this ordinary shit is just that.... shit

  • A good trainer ..has different methods for different fighters... everyone doesnt fight the same...and nobody does it the same... sometime you can do mitts for technique only..sometimes to get your fighter into shape..this guy right here is awesome tho

  • A good trainer has different methods for different fighters... everyone doesnt fight the same...and nobody does it the same... sometime you can do mitts for technique only..sometimes to get your fighter into shape..this guy right here is awesome tho..

  • thATS FRICKIN sick

  • A good trainer relies on alot more than mittwork. Mitt-men are a dime a dozen nowadays. Take Javier Capetillo, for instance. Capetillo's mittwork with Antonio Margarito makes Adrian Davis look like Roger Mayweather, But hes the mastermind behind Giovani Segura's victory vs. Ivan Calderon, All mitt-work really is what the name implies...work.

  • lol he makes the same mistakes as me and i only ben in a boxing club for less then a month training 4 days a week

  • LOL these pads are as bad as Hattons OLD trainer LOLOL

  • if you want to see good handwork check me out doing pads in Thailand, salizar1 padwork

  • holding pads like that is not easy, great clip guys!

  • why dosnt that guy put a sweat band on his head keep all that sweat away from his face.

  • That was Great coaching thats for sure, and you cant base how good of a fighter he is off of mitt work.Wish i had that guy as my boxing coach!

  • *NOTE* This is how pad work should be. Boxers think they can take the pads, it's bullshit. Coach's take the pads correctly. They notice everything

  • Good job coach !!!

  • I saw some negative comments. Anyone who says something negative about this man's pad work technique knows nothing about boxing. There is a lot going on here. Lots of counter-punching training. I would be honored to do pad work with Davis.

  • this is not real boxing))) it's not exist fake boxing pad work or real boxing pad work

    wtf ?))

  • it aint about shivery its about dope lyrics and delivery

  • llenroht :

you are so right yeh mayweather is the greatest at the punching mits but also true that no one is rly gona stand there and and lt you do all of that

  • it's good pad work on the trainers behalf. it'll make a good fighter outta ya, but this guy is a little sloppy in my opinion, and I've been trainin my whole life so I guess you could say I know what I'm talkin about. the trainer was meeting him 3/4 of the way with his punches. then again, this dude looked like he just finished 12 rounds of hard work, he's probably exhausted.

  • Disagree with someone who said their is no one "right way" to do things. Depends on what you mean. Kenny Weldon WORLD CHAMPION trainer states Their is one right way to do things in boxing...its called Fundamental Correctness. Their are variations of that to that right way. But their IS a right and wrong way! And it can be explained logically...boxing is the sweet science...SCIENCE! And their is a Scientific method!

  • @llenroht you say that about mayweathers pad work.....But still UNDEFEATED so until that day no-one can talk.

  • you need to strech you arms out more. or mabye you're doing it can't judge that well infront of the screen cause there are no really good camera angles.

  • i must say his style is a little sloppy..

  • boxer looks like amare stoudemire.

  • He is a programmer. It's awesome. He's almost got it. The way to program human response on stimulus. I want to work out with this guy.

  • 16 title fighters, yeah that's good, Floyd Mayweather is 39-0 don't fucking diss Roger Mayweather christ, LOL put his fighters to Floyd see what happens.

  • 16 title fighters, yeah that's good, Floyd Mayweather is 39-0 don't fucking diss Roger Mayweather christ, LOL put his fighters to Floyd see what happens.

  • bad jab

  • Seeing as how I've actually seen Mayweather Jr. hit guys with five punch combinations. His style works for him. As other's have said, their pad work is a reflex and coordination exercise. No need to disparage them to praise this guy. That said, This routine does look fairly intensive.

  • machida aint no floyd , i like da negga.

floyd asking for a drug test that shiet made me laugh.

why u gotta be a girl flyod.

he didn asked juan marquez ,a floyd mayweather type of drug test

    that shows floyd is kfc

  • BER FUCKING DUMB. the mayweather pad work is not suppose to immitate a fight so stupid. its a hand eye co ordination , reflex and conditioning training method.

  • thats boxing my friends

  • Functional mitts! Actually teaching boxing, looks great!

  • Good Job quoting Ricky Hatton, especially since he turned around and hired the Father a 1.5 later and then learned the SAME mitt routine to try and improve his defense and reflex...

  • Use both styles. they are for different purposes, in my opinion

  • Yeah it all works until you get kicked or taken down lol

  • the best pads workout , weeked

  • the "mayweather mitt work won't necessarily make you a better fighter! It's a coordination & reflex exercise! You have to be able to utilize & and implement it for your particular style of boxing!!! Floyd jr style works for him, it doesn't work for everybody.

  • @tayite I agree that Mayweather's mitt work doesn't work for everybody. I also agree it is a good coordination & reflex exercise for the mayweather style of boxing. I think all of the Mayweathers are very good boxing trainings. I also think Adrian Davis is an excellent boxing trainer as well. I think it is the trainer that makes the focus mitt work.

  • @tayite it certainly didn't work for Ricky Hatton lol

  • @tayite thank you

  • finally real pad work people really are fascinated with the mayweather pad system but mayweather aint that good becuase of the pads its because he does 1,000,000 other types of training that we dont know about.

  • Dude you are putting down Floyds pad work.. but the two guys that have those beautiful routines on the pads are two of the baddest guys doing it.. Floyd and Gamboa. Both undefeated. Both medalist in the Olympics

  • this is a joke

  • Did anyone else get pumped up watching this? lol

  • hahaha NOPE

  • @boost250i yh i did hah

  • wouldnt be so bad if he kept his hands up and his hook isnt the best punch ive seen

  • but he can still whoop you and your momma-

  • Dude what are you talking about- He is fighting perfect-

He getting his body into those hooks-

What good is fundamental correct if it lacks power-

  • Not to bad the pad man knows what his doing .....but....he is constantly calling the shots....instead of calling the shots where you have to, holding the pads in the correct way so the boxer knows what shots to take...without you telling him !

  • Not sure where it said how long the striker has been boxing. Might be new. I call my shots when holding mitts, most trainers I've ever watched do. Unless they do that memorization Mayweather garbage. Depending on what I'm working I can move my mitts faster than they can read them. Also, I sometimes will hold a mitt the same way for a different punch, depending on what combinations I'm working.

  • You could have posted this and praised Mr. Davis without taking a shot at the Mayweathers and bringing up Hatton's ridiculous quote.

Hatton hated that padwork so much that he ran to daddy Floyd to learn it, didn't he?

Different trainers can be successful with different methods. There's no one "right way" to do things.

  • @Grapplefan12000 The thing is, Matweather does everything you see in this video without being told and does it in a third of the time. yes its a routine. obviously something is working.

  • @Grapplefan12000 remember that the padwork we all see floyd doing is media stuff,he don't really train like that. in reality his padwork is proper padwork like this.

  • Actually, it's not just for show. If you take the time to watch it in slow motion and break it all down there is a ton of practical material that is being drilled in the Mayweather padwork.

Footwork, head movement, blocking punches, counters to specific punches and so on.

I know some people who have been lucky enough to work with Roger Mayweather on the mitts. He does the same type of routine with all of them that he does with Floyd Jr.

  • Usually there IS one right way to do things. Mayweather's "style" is all show and is quite ineffective for training boxers. Floyd is simply an exception to the rule.

  • very nice man...

  • this is the same mitt work my coach gave me... and the best kind of work you can get very nice

  • what are they doing

  • that shit was sick im from los mochis sinaloa nice verry nice

  • Fantastic work!

  • I dont think hatton can criticise mayweathers padwork after the whuppin he got.

  • I think I am gonna do a training series with Mr Davis for the next 30 days. I am dumbfounded at the fact he has taken 16 fighters to world titles and nobody is beating down is door for training

  • @llenroht whats state is this trainer in?

  • Something a lot of people dont know is when mayweather is using the pads his not just punching his blocking, dodging and countering you need to look closely

  • @aksaboutm3 Yeah people don't see that he his working on reflexes. Thats is how the Mayweather's use pad work.

  • good work. looks to be shortarming some of those punches though

  • Iam from Maryland too Davis a good trainer

  • wow cont wait 2 put my up gd shit man keep it up init t.c

  • Good Stuff by an older trainer who must feel very sore the next morning...those mitts take a lot out of your hands and arms.

  • nice vid..hell of a pad workout

  • my brother spared with darnnel wilson in that gym ad is the best

  • hes a very good trainer. trained sugar ray, and rahman

  • mayweathers probably does this too and other training behind closes doors, he mite just pull out the flashy stuff, for the camaras, his got to be doing something right.

  • very nice work

  • at my gym we do about 32-40 punch combos

  • ahhh man wen im hitting the pads i couldent get the four combo comands right dose it take a while to get good at it or did u lot ace them the first time u tryed

  • man i havent been at the gym for along time im 11 i was going to do the mitts for the fight but i didnt do them and ad ask me if i wanted to do them again but i said no

  • Why does everybody feel the need to insult and undermine these videos. Simply quality work here.

  • sorry jab and sorry style!!

  • He's trained 16 world champions. Apparently it works

  • @llenroht lol, snap

  • @kaleighreddkoolkat his pad work is good... but i dont think he could keep up with a better fight with faster hands... but i love the science behind it...

  • @kaleighreddkoolkat hes nopt world champion but i bet he's 100 times better than your sorry ass

  • this trainer is really good learning new things just watching the guy

  • adrian davis is a cool guy i know cuase he my coach

  • try watching peacemaker sparring

  • Are u kidding me, u cant compare this bullshit training to Roger Mayweather's regiment. And u DEFINITElY cant compare this slow handed slob to Mayweather, hell even me!!!! Sorry motherfuckers!!

  • And Roger has trained how many world champions compared to Davis? Davis has been in the corner of 16 men when they won championships. How many has Roger been in?

  • ummm u would hit me with noneof dat....

  • sliping from a jab and counter with a right upercut from outside,i don t belive it s possible in the ring,or even if it is it let s open for a very long time.padwork should be done realistic.and about Mayweather and his pad work ,he is phenomenal.Ricky hatton says what he says and got KO ed.mayweather is a top athlete with unbelivebele skills,so the pad work is adapted to his own style.fighters should train in their own way.

  • ya its possible slipping the jab with an uppercut. i'll try to load up one of my videos of me doing it on a regular basis. little awkward i must admit. always resulted in him getting caught initially, then me off balance because of it

  • Zab juda done it many time in fight, but he's a southpaw and the counter uppercut come from the right hand on a left jab attack, watch his fight. But i don't think it's the first thing you learn when you start boxing!

  • man any1 of ya'll who come 2 talk shit about us at round 1 or Mr.Adrian Davis could answer 2 me or any1 at the gym 4 real 4 real i promise this i will make you work you ass off with me in the ring

  • what a load of sh?t. Mayweather is THE BEST. His padwork ability is part of the reason why he so GREAT. Padwork develops speed, accuracy, power , co-ordination and reflexes, Skills the AMATEUR in the video needs to work on!! The guy in the video is slow and his guard is a joke

  • this sucks, the guy drops every punch after he throws them, every one.

  • 100% true, and any half decent trainer should spot that immediately, and correct it. What's that say about this guy?

  • Just wondering...who is Davis' best project? (champ)?

  • THIS SUX!!!!!!!!! hahahaa

nahhh just joking great trainer spot on. non of this coreograph bullshit they have going on these days i give a solid 4 stars

  • All pad work is coregraphed! why are people so stupid to this fact. Move are worked on over and over until they become automatic. fighter and coach work on move over and over until the fighter can perform the moves even in the most exhausted state and get the move correct.

  • great coach

  • proof is in the pudding pal! mayweathers padwork helps him maintain a rythm and work on his defence and fluidity. also, floyd sr has padwork alot difrent to his brother roger. after being moulded in to the perfect fighter by his father, floyd jr is at a point where a yes man will let him be his best becoz he is that good. rjj was in a similar situation as was a yung ali

  • spot on

  • lol....there are a total lack of boxers in here. The Mayweathers can claim to only have made one fighter. Floyd Jr. What other fighters have they made from the ground up with them system of theirs? Briggs started off with Davis. Sharmba Mitchell. Council. Joppy. Tapia. Rahman. Blocker. Simon Brown. He made ALL of these fighters champions from the ground up. Name one Mayweather fighter who's name aint Mayweather who has they made from the ground up who became champion.

    I'll wait

  • Damn, can't give you a thumbs up. I cannot stand Mayweather. It bothers me when there is a phenomenon and everyone accepts it as an everyday occurrence. Mayweather is just such a phenomenon. Wasn't Hatton one of Sr's boys? Thanks for turning me on to a great trainer.

  • All the fighters you named suck

  • great real training, like to have the guy in my corner

  • real boxing pad work? motherfucka is slower than a christmas tree

  • dude, do you know what the cus damato numbering system is?

  • This guy understands as a trainer what needs to be done to get his fighters ready to fight great job Mr. Davis.

  • Sorry to break the news to you amateurs but I hate reading comments on youtub
