  • They drew comparison between the two sinply because they were both celtic rock bands who looked like dominating the scene at the same time.

    lazy journalism mixed with a lack of true knowledge on the subject matter results in stupid statements;

see daily record on the old firm for proof......i rest my case.

both were great bands at the time though until the JOSHUA TREE I think SM were way ahead musically.

ps GOLDEN WONDERS CHEESE &ONION crisps were the best crisps in the known world at the time

  • superb version of an already brilliant tune..............

  • what a band saw them live in cardiff years ago awesome , wonder what there doing now.....once upon a time classic album .

  • @rharry231171

They are up here in Inverness next Saturday with Big Country supporting...........Brilliant !!!!!!!!

  • Book of brillian musicians!!How cool was Jimmy Kerr back in day!!!

  • Got to be one of the best live bands ever.

  • @SMALLCODNCHIPS I AGREE

  • Band of Brilliant Things

  • THE BEST!

  • this song is so genial

  • Got to be one of the best "Live" songs ever. What's the competition,Gary Numan,Are friend electric.....or,maybe Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark....Not many bands can out do a studio recording......

  • i am simple minds fan

  • Get the audio from this track at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • Best version of this brilliant, brilliant song. Thanks for posting.

  • Nice one bud. Great images!

  • Who was born in the decade of 70 and caught this LP in the height remembers accurately as this music and all of " In the City of light" they had marked our generation This is one of the best ones of the LP Long life to the Simple Minds

  • you're right !

all songs are better than this originals

this one, Ghostdancing, SSIS, Big Sleep, ...

and i've never heard a "goodnight" like this one

  • @PepperUTube Couldn't agree more. This is the album I got into before I listened to any of the studio stuff. You can't beat it. Great live band.

  • @jas407 :-)

I saw them for the "street fighting years" tour

    that was amazing

another rewrinting of songs. always in the research of new emotions...

I remember they had make one song of Big Sleep and SSIS

just one thing : I'm tired to read and listen that SM are just another U2, but "poor"

that's wrong. I really love U2, since 83 (WAR), but SM are a level higher when they are composing, and their music are nothing to compare with U2's music. I've never understood that

  • @PepperUTube I was excited when I heard 'Big Sleep live in Cardiff' on youtube - had tickets to see them in Zurich last year but couldn't make it... I saw them on the Real Life tour at Main Road and it is up there with the best gigs I've ever been to, although Real Life wasn't my favourite album of their's. You're spot on about their composing. They're more sophisticated than U2!

  • @PepperUTube You are right. I was listening yesterday again after more than a decade of neglection and today againg while I went for a jogging. They definitely don't get the actual appreciation they would deserve. But who knows maybe they will soon be rediscovered by the younger generation. So many bands who are very successful now are nice but "nice" compared to the almost spiritual ecstasy the Simple Minds are able to create.

  • Take me back to growing up days ,, thank you SM

  • una vita passata ad ascoltarli ed amarli...

..A life spent with their music....lovin' that band....

    long live simple minds..

    best band ever

  • Fantastica!!! e stupendo tutto il doppio album...

  • so many memories
