The thing to remember with Keith Richards is that he was never just the guitarist in the band. Just look at the Jagger / Richards back catalogue. These are million selling hits co written by 'Keef', appealing not just to musicians but music lovers the world over. As for Ronnie Wood, lets look at his CV. The Jeff Beck Group, The Faces and The Rolling Stones. Unremakable?  I think not.

I know what you mean about his sound, but i don't think it's hard to sound like that when you've got his money & the best sound guys in the business. I was thinking more about his playing skills & attitude. he gets my back up, Iv'e had students that no matter how hard they try they can't get there timing right and can't quite bend the note to the right pitch, this to me is how Keith sounds when he plays, it make's me cringe i just wanna grab his guitar and say "not like that, like this".

Keith Richards & Ronnie wood are two of the most overated guitarist on the planet, I really have seen better musicians in my local pub. The best work the Stone's did was with Mick Taylor in the early 70s but he didn't last long cos lets face it he was too good for them. AC/DC are awsomme, The Stone's shouldn't even share the same stage with them in my opinion, and i'm not a Heavy Metal fan i just appreciate live music & good musicians.

Cant remember what i paid at the Enmore, but the gig at the Tunnel was not advertised, i was just at the club on a Saturday night with friends, Jagger and Richards turned up unannounced and did a short acoustic set. The only regret i have was that i was pretty much pissed when they played, had i know they were going to do a set, i would have paced myself..lol.

Love AC/DC, love Zep GnR are ok too. To be honest though they all bow down to the Stones ! GnR have played support to the Stones as have AC/DC AND Zep wanted to play support on the Rock n Roll circus but Jagger turned them down ! The Stones dont play support for nobody. To argue over who was/is best out of these three bands is silly though, i have to say though that GnR aren't in the same league as the likes of Stones/ACDC/Zep. They are truly great bands!!
