  • PROCRASTINATORS OF THE WORLD UNITE!

    Tomorrow...

  • you seem a tartaruga.ashuashuashuashuashu. XD just kidding ... can you tell me the song name?

  • i want to move to japan. im in love with the japanese culture, but my friends think its weird T_T

  • @NOMNOMNOMmonster normal

  • lol this makes me want to go to japan even more

  • damn i miss the streets like that :(

  • If your bicycle does have a front basket , i would highly recommend you to find a way to put your camcorder in to the front basket and secured it with rubber bands or tapes..

Another great way would be to find a way to tape the Camcorder to the front handle of the bicycle. That would be more stable and you can just talk as you record.

    Great videos by the way.

    ( in in tokyo )

  • Osaka has a nice feel to it. Its not as highbrow as Tokyo and the people seem more fun. I like the kansai dialect. And its not too old fashioned like Kyoto.

  • looks empty, wierd. i thought japan always was busy

  • @strangetangerine Always busy? No, of course not. Not at all. Outside the downtown areas of Tokyo, there is no where that is busy 24/7... is there anywhere? ;-)

  • do some people speak english?

  • @snakekatie2 Of course. Some do.

  • where are all the trees?... is there a reserve or park some where?

    thankyou for uploading

  • @XxXwaitingforuXxX Osaka has relatively little space devoted to parks and such. Even when compared to other cities in Japan, Osaka is lacking in that respect. But I have filmed a few vids in parks, so check em out...

  • @kansaiPJ arigato ^-^

  • Done well from your bike.

  • Thanx.

  • Glad you liked it!

  • i really luv this vid!

    this vid is so awesome!

    good job pj well done!

  • Looks like a really cool place to live. I hope I end up somewhere like that when I go on exchange in Japan in a few years.

What's the music in the background called?

  • The song is called [あの青をこえて] and it is by 19. They are a great band.

  • this is Rei, do u still remember me? i enjoyed this video! i also wanna watch da video of around Umeda or school(Higobashi).

  • Hey Rei! You're in California now, right? I hope all is well.

I will try to put up more videos about Umeda and Higobashi.

  • good videos

  • Thanks!

  • Liked the vid. Though i don't think i would ride a bike and film. But if you didn't we wouldn't have seen this vid arigatou!

  • what a gift for stalkers!

if one wants, you know, he or she doesn`t have to get to your building. they just can wait for you in,,, i don`t know, a coin laundry? :)

i enjoyed the video, and it was not at all jumpy or something.

  • Thanks oryakang. And no stalkers... yet. ;-)

  • I loved this video. It was awesome. Keep doing these. And, by watching these, it's preparing me for when I do come to Japan.

Do you have to know fluent Nihongo to live in Japan?

  • I am not fluent at all. I have only a survival level of Japanese skill (but that, is another tragic story...). Still, the more you know and are willing to learn, the easier it will be to get by - specially if you are going to live away from a major city.

  • Oh ok. Well, I'm planning on learning the language fluently. So, if you live in a major city there are more Eigo speakers?

  • Sure, more English speakers. But more critically, there are more foreigners living there and more visiters, thus more information will be availible in English (subway signs, ets.)

  • Gotacha. So Tokyo is easier to get around in than out side cities.

  • you should title your vlogs

  • I am not sure what you mean... each of my vblogs do have a title...?

  • finaly, now i am going to reconstruct this video and make a path th your home >=D haha

  • :-0

  • I lived in Northern Wakayama Ken (on the Nankai line into Namba station) I lived and worked in Hashimoto, and had fun in Osaka. I lived there from mid 1993 until mid 1996. I have visited there three times since coming back to Canada. I still read Kansai Time Out, and read it while sucking back Hi-Soft caramels.

Even eleven years later, the thought of going back come rushing at me at weird times, without warning. Funny...huh?

Thanks for the videos, keep it up.

    Anthony

  • Hi Anthony. Glad the video brought back pleasant memories for you!

  • Thanks Patrick--I miss Japan and Osaka very much.

  • Glad you liked it. How long were you in Osaka?

  • Hey Patrick, I really enjoyed your tour. Especially when you went by my house!!. I now live in San Diego but it was sooo good to see my neighborhood up in close!. How long have you lived in Fukushima? I go back sometimes with my business trip to Osaka/Tokyo, I should look you up :) Please keep up your great work. Thanks again.

  • Hi Keisuke. I've only been in Fukushima for about two years, but I've lived in Osaka for the last seven years. Next time you are in Osaka, look me up!

  • Thanks, I enjoyed the little tour :)

  • Hi, I really enjoy your videos, specially this one showing the streets and stuff, looks like a good place to live.

Do more tours like that if you could, I would really appreciate that!

Speak more japanese in your videos, it would be really cool, I'm trying to learn too, but it's very discouraging at the beggining.

My english is very poor, so if I wrote something wrong that's the reason...haha!

And sorry for the long comment!

  • I am glad you like the videos. I will do more tours in the future. I don't speak too much Japanese cuz I am really shy about speaking, but I should speak more, so I will try. Your English is fine, don't worry!

  • Nice tour. I enjoyed it. I would personally like some more tours.

  • Thanks. I'll try to do more in the future. And thanks for commenting!

  • Wow PJ. I just started watching your vids tonight. I love them and it's very cool what you do. I'm subscribing!

  • ありがとう! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. I really do appreciate it.

  • ツーアじゃなくてツアーだよ!

  • ありがとう。日本語がめちゃ難しいね!

  • Do more tours woooo

  • Subscribe and I might... LOL!

  • You never game moi a tour of your neighborhood! なんでなん?

  • Before graduate, I'm gonna find your house with Teruyoshi!!! Just kidding, but please invite me to your hous when I graduate schoo!!!

  • Sure! IF you graduate... LOL!

  • This was a nice tour. I had no idea what Japan looked like until watching this. And with all the bicycles going by, I'd probably be nervous to be out walking on the street.. in fact, I'd probably go decked out wearing full body pads lol =D

Great entry in your diary PJ. Thanks for sharing!

  • Glad you liked the tour EIVT! The bikes and crowds are intimidating at first, but you quickly get used to it. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it, I'll be doing more in the near future. Stay tuned!

  • I dig this video.

to be honest, I don't watch most of your videos because a lot of them are just taken in your room, with you talking. I like these outdoor ones.

What about the Kansai ben though! hahaha ホンマや!

  • Hey Max! Glad you liked this one. About most of mine being in my room... maybe half these days. I've been filming a lot in and around school. Check those out.

    関西弁か?全然分からんで!(笑)/

Seriously... I am way too embarrased to speak much Japanese in vids. I've been here way too long to be as bad as I am. That's why videos like yours are so helpful for me. I am learning a lot!

  • en joe daibood it!

you should speak more japanese 大丈夫!!

  • 恥ずかし過ぎ!

  • i think vlogs shoud be quite long. I dont mind long vids... in fact i enjoy long vids more than short ones. Short let me like.. eh? thats it? im still bored.

So how expensive is around there?

Looks like a good place to live.

Like for example an apt with 2 rooms? monthly payment? an approx. would be ok.

    Anyway good luck and ganbare!

    Keep the vids coming.

  • Prices vary a lot, but a 2room place can run anywhere from 800US to 2000US, depending on how modern the building is and the location. As I am a poor teacher and grad student, mine is near the bottom end of that scale! LOL.

Keep the questions coming. I love to answer them!

  • wow 800 USD monthly for 2 rooms apt?

wow... that...thats more scary than ringu or any jhorror films out there.

There should be a movie names "THE JAPANESE HOUSE PRICES". or something. Anyway that was lame.

so yeah i dont blame you lol 800 here in PR could get you(depends on the area) the most most maybe a 4 rooms house.

Eh, is jp same? prices varies with area?

  • Location is everything. While it is true that the cost of living in Japan is high, so are the salaries, so I don't think it is so bad. I know people in New York, London, and San Francisco that pay far more for rent for even smaller placed.

  • well that makes sense... here the minimum wage is 5.15$USD lol

    cheap azz goverment!

  • ok next question(yeah cuz youtube wont let me do long msgs)

    2. What happened with the temple part lol?

    3. The part of like stores door street thing... the floor was diff.. no car allowed right? Those kind of street malls are common in jp? Theres one here in PR but looks different... i dont know how explain...

so yeah, anywayz, i enjoyed the tour!

  • Q2: I will show the tour of the temple in a future vid - promise.

Q3. Shoutengai's are street shopping arcades. They are off-limits to normal traffic. Shoutengai are common in older urban areas, but western style malls are common in newer more modern areas.

    Glad you like the tour!

  • Ah i missed the intro jajajjaa

felt weird not watching the intro.

Anywayz... was really coolvid! i added it to my favs. Always good to see tours of places!

    Umm a few quetions...

    1. Like there was a place where there werent anyone walking and you were driving bicycle out on the sidewalk... is that like bici(short for bicycle?) only? like special street part?

  • The intro will be back. I just thought the vid was too long, so I didn't use it this time. I will again.

To answer your question: I am not sure which part of the tour you are refering to, but there are no special bike paths in this part of Osaka. The tiled area of the shoutengai is generally off-limits to cars, just bike traffic and pedestrians normally.

  • I gotta cut this videos down. They're too long. From now on I'll keep vids to five minutes or less. Promise... yeah, promise.
