Compass, airspeed (900ft/s) and time calculation, below the 500ft hight (and without a HUD to assist them). Remarcable.
Wow, I never realized what nice-lookin' planes those Mirage III's are. Something about a tailless-delta is just mean looking, and the Mirage is no exception. However, the Saab Draken takes the prize as the best looking of the bunch! Gotta love that compound-swept wing. Only downside to the tailless deltas is the ten-mile takeoff run. And the 200kt landing speed! And why does one of the Mirages run out of fuel, while the other 3 are okay? Doesn't make much sense.
@justforever96 it uses more fuel to stay in formation than to lead one (seems odd I know) so by the time you get to the combat zone, usually the guy at the back has the least fuel remaining. Not sure if that applies here, but its one explanation.

the US went into vietnam to counter the communist pressure there and make sure they have a strong grip in the area, an objective that wasn't met in the end due to public opinion, but the soviets were intimidated and their presence around the globe became less prominent due to america's "fuck it lets fight" mentality, which in the end helped prevent WW3.

I don't know how much you know about warfare aviation, but expecially if you're using cannons and mgs, if you can fly twice as fast you can attack break and never present a target, and I really doubt a highly trained pilot in a mirage or F 16 would have a problem with 5 MiG 17's. Its like a hawker hurricane against a me 262, but even worse.

Precise navigation towards target area, reveals excellent pilot trainning. The original Mirage III C model lacked any INS, and, once over the Red Sea, they flew to low for TACAN guidance. Compass, airspeed (900ft/s) and time calculation, below the 500ft hight (and without a HUD to assist them). Remarcable.

Wow, I never realized what nice-lookin' planes those Mirage III's are. Something about a tailless-delta is just mean looking, and the Mirage is no exception. However, the Saab Draken takes the prize as the best looking of the bunch! Gotta love that compound-swept wing. Only downside to the tailless deltas is the ten-mile takeoff run. And the 200kt landing speed! And why does one of the Mirages run out of fuel, while the other 3 are okay? Doesn't make much sense.

@justforever96 it uses more fuel to stay in formation than to lead one (seems odd I know) so by the time you get to the combat zone, usually the guy at the back has the least fuel remaining. Not sure if that applies here, but its one explanation.

@worldcomander Sorry WC thats not true at all. The Americans were very even handed in their supplies to the Israelis and the Arabs in an effort to not offend the major oil producing countries. The US did not truly supply Israel with the best until after Iran-Contra and the Carter Admin. The only thing the Israeli's got was a small number of Phantoms... thats in comparison to the masses of Mig-21s, 23s, and 25s supplied to the Syrians and Egyptians. Jordan was supplied by the US.
