@ScyberPsylock Nope. RCR and Super Dodgeball are only both part of the same franchise, which is called "Kunio-kun". Over the years, a couple specific games have gotten different localizations, but the original Japanese versions of each always star the same guy.
I remember that Motorcycle stage was TOUGH!! Does anybody know if on Level 2, could you throw Indio (the boss) into the water when he has full status?
The Amstrad CPC 464 colour version of this game ruled. Graphics where a lot better than any version I've seen. Good music too. There was even a cheat where if you pressed the right buttons blood would come out of the guys heads when you bet them.
I never liked it how the boss stood by the side, watching the fight and only joining in when one or two foes were left. Maybe that gang should dump their armchair general...
Is it me or dose the Master system version actually look better than the arcade original?! I mean the arcade graphics probably have a larger colour pallet but they look amateurish.
Agreed, but the fourth level is the worst. The Yakuza become (ridiculously) more and more powerful every time you fight them, and it's time-consumpting (leaving you with, like, 30 seconds to beat Sabu). Not to mention one stab and it's game over.
Here's a little pattern I've noticed. If you do this, you could possibly go through the game without getting hit once:
Jack/2nd boss: Jump kick them repeatedly.
Kim: Walk away from her direction. When she starts running towards you, jump kick and she will fall. Repeat.
Sabu: Anything really goes, but try your best to stay out of a situation where you are defenseless (ex. holding onto someone, punching them while they're down, etc.)
dont know if its the version i got, but its 1 of the hardest games ive ver played. most games of that age were insanely hard but this is rock hard at first play
For what I'm understanding, Tecknos Japan made their first beat'em up game with grabbling moves.
Too hard to control the character (kick), they kept the idea in mind, they release Double Dragon with similar moves and after Double Dragon2 the revenge with the similar weird control, but easier to understand.
yeh took i awhile to master the left/right attack buttons. but even then you still get nailed. i remember around the same time streetfighter 1 arcade. took some practice to get passed level 2. was insanely hard
Even Though Technos Japan published this under Taito River City Ransom was the True Sequel. Double Dragon 1 and 2 was done by technos Japan but Romstar Published 2 which went back to the Renegade Roots.
3:30 he is fighting girls.... that's wrong ;)

Just like River City Ransom and the Dodge ball games for NES. They reuse the characters a lot for different games.

@Disthron Yeah, this game has been released on master system with a great quality, the company had enough time to this, 6 years.
Ericxtest 1 year ago
@Ericxtest The Master System version had different developers; Natsume developed the whole game.
Every other version was developed by Technos Japan and published by Taito.

That's my formula to Renegade success!
Nintendavin 2 years ago
I must agreed but Kim is the hardest boss, I guess even if I used that trick on her, she count that move with a shoulder block.
Ericxtest 2 years ago
Actually, she doesn't. If you do a jump kick while she's standing still, she'll counter it. But while she's running, she falls.

This is the one thing I love about Technos. They always kept the same design and gameplay through out the years!
