Huh. I went to school with this guy in grade 5 to 7 before my family moved. He always was a good athlete, I never thought he'd go pro though! Very cool move!
The only afl player who can say he scored a try against the all blacks. In all honesty there's few wallabies or springboks who can claim a try as good as that.
Go Pykey! Showed great pace and really read that well. He knew the intercept was on there. Love your work and wish you the best with the Swannies - love watching you grow!
I recon wing or fullback are pretty good positions for him to come from. He read that play pretty well too. Though, if he didn't take the intercept it would have been a try probably for NZ.
He is built like an aussie rules player - he has a lot going for him - let's see where it takes him and where he gets too.
First game in big time this sunday, off the bench. He has played so well in the reserves they had to pick him.Hes been gettin 20 odd possessions a game. Its one hell of a story Im going to go out to the game go Swans.
Paul Roos picked him on form & has said so in the media. He has repeatedly pointed out that his form in reserves cant be ignored by the selectors. Yes he can only play ruck but he gives swans more options with their tall men. I prefer the opinion of Roos ,Barry Hall, Kirk etc to yours on the issue of him being ready!
He played well! Roos gave him 50 minutes of game time, picked him for next week against Geelong. He has the right build 4 ruck, hes obviously very fit ,his teammates have confidence in him. Its only 6 games into the season he looks like hes here to stay. Its a huge effort on Pykes part he also seems very humble realistic & team oreintated.

Good to see him playing for the Swans! But our gam is actually SKILLFUL. You actually have to BOUNCE the oval ball every 15 metres (which is actually really hard), not just tuck it under your arm and run with it. Anyone can do that...
@MacDoubt this guy reminds me of me, i play fullback #15 and all my tries are by fullout sprints, FULLBACKS FTW!!!!!! hardest position to play in rugby
woooo mike pyke, if he remains injury free he's in for a good 2012 season!
