  • woooo mike pyke, if he remains injury free he's in for a good 2012 season!

  • Huh. I went to school with this guy in grade 5 to 7 before my family moved. He always was a good athlete, I never thought he'd go pro though! Very cool move!

  • @roadrummer no mate your just a twat

  • The only afl player who can say he scored a try against the all blacks. In all honesty there's few wallabies or springboks who can claim a try as good as that.

  • not bad for an AFL player

  • i can say theres a fair few canadians who are built perfectly for afl. its a market waiting to be tapped by the afl

  • Go Pykey! Showed great pace and really read that well. He knew the intercept was on there. Love your work and wish you the best with the Swannies - love watching you grow!

  • thats one of my favorite things to do just steal the ball and run like forrest gump

  • What an athlete! Go swans!

  • @Eiraqucam Yeah perfect build for AFL eh?! Born to play AFL is Mike.

  • Go Mike Pyke! Awesome try. Who could believe a Canadian rugby player being an AFL player?

  • Back yourself son, what a try!

  • good player he plays rules now and he looks as if he enjoys it more

  • @rugbygodnum8 wat r u talking about - he gets no game time at teh swans - hopefully he might join the melb rebels for 2011

  • good try

  • I recon wing or fullback are pretty good positions for him to come from. He read that play pretty well too. Though, if he didn't take the intercept it would have been a try probably for NZ.

He is built like an aussie rules player - he has a lot going for him - let's see where it takes him and where he gets too.

    Go swannies!

  • ahh i love it :)

i saw him play for the swannies todayy!

  • lol same, how do u see his future??

  • He will be a champion for the swans. a year in the twos and he will be one of the best rucks in the game

  • There's a reason I picked him on my DreamTeam this year. Go Swans. Go Canada. haha

  • First game in big time this sunday, off the bench. He has played so well in the reserves they had to pick him.Hes been gettin 20 odd possessions a game. Its one hell of a story Im going to go out to the game go Swans.

  • no he hasn't.

hes been average in fact in the reserves.

he doesnt deserve the call up yet

but i think hell make an impact on the weekend

he still has trougbles with the skills (Obviously)

but his tap work is excellent

hell be good support for jolly one day

  • Paul Roos picked him on form & has said so in the media. He has repeatedly pointed out that his form in reserves cant be ignored by the selectors. Yes he can only play ruck but he gives swans more options with their tall men. I prefer the opinion of Roos ,Barry Hall, Kirk etc to yours on the issue of him being ready!

  • cos Richo did?

  • He played well! Roos gave him 50 minutes of game time, picked him for next week against Geelong. He has the right build 4 ruck, hes obviously very fit ,his teammates have confidence in him. Its only 6 games into the season he looks like hes here to stay. Its a huge effort on Pykes part he also seems very humble realistic & team oreintated.

  • hope he does well for the swans would be a great story

  • run mike run

  • What a story, debuting in the Nab Cup for Sydney this weekend.

  • big potentialz.. he will do well in afl

  • Gives me more of a reason to be a Swans fan here in Canada.

  • mate, do it.

  • do it for sure.

best of luck to him at the swans.

  • pike is team team canada. cant believe he ain't on this fall tour

  • go swannies, hope he does well

  • Mike Pyke, your gonna do so well in the Sydney Swans!!!..good luck buddy

  • i was so surprised hwo well canada did that game.

i ink this was the game where i woke up at5:00 a.m. to watch it

  • good coverage by canadian wing

  • IIRC, He was playing fullback, but yea.

  • ohyea, ok i played fullback :)

  • MacDoubt and 877nick877: He played wing as well as Fullback.

  • @MacDoubt this guy reminds me of me, i play fullback #15 and all my tries are by fullout sprints, FULLBACKS FTW!!!!!! hardest position to play in rugby
