@AudaciousInrush actually it's a stabiliser... it helps to keep the bow steady while you aim which is handy when the target is 90 metres away. also helps absorb any vibration caused by the shot.
Is it absolutely necessary to use finger tabs when shooting a recurve? I just started shooting a bow and I don't use any safety stuff like that. Am I gonna mess up my fingers?
@MultiSniper14 a fingersling is a peice of fabric that goes around you thumb, bow and back to your index finger(what ever finger you like best), then they're wrist slings.
I don't like these kinda bows.. bow for me must be made from wood, and without any super duper gadgets. Simple and beautiful, like in middle ages .. :]
@snipingsheep how do you get that roll in the bow after you shoot i can't get that on my bow i also do competions to how do you get the roll of the bow after you release?
@MultiSniper14 you don't have to have a roll in the bow. It wont make you shoot any better. It depends on how the bow is set up and how it feels to you.
When you do your push-pull, let your string-hand slide behind your ear. Don't try to release it away from your face. It might affect the flight of your arrow.
Let your right elbow and back muscles do all the work.
this is the reason why i'm shooting the compound since dezember :-D. now it works! i worked more than 3 years at this problem. a video from my compound shooting will follow soon...
:) hehe okey thats alright.. do you still shoot whit that limbs?.. i shot in sweden and i use G3 40# limbs nad i love them.. i tried the 900 cx but i i think they are the same only thing is the 900 is a little smoother to draw thats it.
@halofighter12345 Stabilizer is for absorbing the shock and to act as a counterbalance. It swings forward after every shot because you aren't suppose to grip the bow. The point is to let everything fall forward.
Now that's good shooting, there's only one thing going wrong. From the moment you touch your jaw, it musn't take more than 3 seconds to shoot. Your shot takes approximately 6 to 9 seconds. The reason is not physical, it's mental. And since 80% of archery is mental, it's important. As soon as you take more than 3 seconds, your active concentration is already thinking about something else. You become distracted and subconsciously start thinking, and because of that, your muscles tense.

@HOMExSKILLET All it is a rest. It allows you to rest your bow on the ground when not in use.

You will most likely end up with a huge callous across the back of your fingers. Either that or flayed skin

@MultiSniper14 relax your bowhandfingers and let the bow jump forvard. you also need a fingersling. or maybe your stabilisator isn`t topheavy enough.

@MultiSniper14 you don't have to have a roll in the bow. It wont make you shoot any better. It depends on how the bow is set up and how it feels to you.

You have an open release?
When you do your push-pull, let your string-hand slide behind your ear. Don't try to release it away from your face. It might affect the flight of your arrow.
Let your right elbow and back muscles do all the work.
If possible, try to work on it.
Everything else is amazing. :)
