  • 32 people recognize that after SOPA admiring this greatness online will be illegal.

  • One of THE most heartfelt songs EVER!!!!!!

  • One does simply not dislike this.

  • THIS TRACK FUCKING OWNS! THAT IS ALL.

Saturday Night mayhem well loved up, peace everyone out there! 8D

  • belo arranjo gostei da musica

  • Joe Satriani sings better with his guitar than any voice I have ever heard!

  • the palm muted part, is just utterly awesome, the way it flows with the drums.....then he cranks the unbelievable outro solo out. I bought this DVD when it first came out in 2003 and watched it religiously trying to copy everything he did!! I hold this song very close to my heart... flawless :D

  • @RolfGuitar

Why would we skip to 2:18? every part of this song is good!

  • Skip to 2:18 for the good part

  • I like jack Thammerat better

  • those 31 people is justin bieber's fans...

  • When Joe is gone from this earth one of these days, he will be remembered as probably thee greatest guitarist of all time. I think he earned the title don't you??

  • 31 people got hit by a falling star

  • Do simple things is extremely complicated.

  • 30 people are... ummm... i don't know, this song doesn't have any lyrics

  • @petigle 30 people have starry days..

  • @MidniteHaze1 hahahahaha

  • Y pensar que cuando vino a Peru la gente lloro con esta cancion.... que melodia DIOS!!!

  • @MidniteHaze1 good one.

  • i just love this song.....

  • this guy can right some of the most happy music ever wooooooooot

  • I remember when i first saw this video, it´s probably about 3 or 4 years ago, It was the first time I ever saw Joe Satriani, and i was blown away, and unitl now I have probably seen this video a thousand times, and I still get the exact same feeling and reaction as I did the first time, I have never, ever in my life had this feeling, this is probably the best performance we will ever see in the history of music, if not the human beings in this universe. This video made me a musician! Thanks Joe!

  • @DarkWriter31

    mine's from 0:00 to 5:07 :p

  • Favorite part is from 1:55 to 2:46. Love how simple this song.

  • I love the riff at 2:53 and how he ends the song with it, gives me goosbumbs... sexual goosebumbs.lol You fucken rock silver silver, much love from toronto!!

  • @skyskrape66 i agree 100% with the goosebumps its such a beautiful song!

  • this was his first song i fell in love with and till today I tried so hard to make the guitar sing because of him.

  • who do u guys think is better?, Jimmi Hendrix, or Joe Satriani

  • @topgunlover203

Jimi was more influential, but Satch can sure play it like no other

  • 2:23 best fall

  • Holy crap! I just realized something, lol.

I made a song on guitar a while ago, but it was still probably at least half a year since I had heard Starry Night (when I made mine). I was just making something that I thought sounded like a good melody... but now that I hear this again the it sounds a lot like the song part I made! It's probably just a coincidence, but I think it shows how powerful and influential Joe really is :)

  • I think Joe spammed his pants at his own brilliance at 2:27 ! ! ! !

  • The Man with a chrome ax!

  • this song makes me so nostalgic ・・・

    awsome

  • six strings of outstanding beauty

  • better is a word in guitar if your comparing slash to billie joe

  • Must be cold in denver joe is all coverd up.

  • Absolute Perfection.

  • when he hit this one note, my toe shot straight up in my boot! van gogh would be proud.

  • we need 30 condoms and a time machine

  • shit! harry you better move your ass Voldemort aint dead

  • Liquid eroticism

  • love the way he changes key.

  • 30 people ARE GAY

  • everything so smooth abt it .. love listening to it wen i wake up

  • super

  • este solo me gusta mucho en especial la parte ; 2:20

  • I play a version of this whenever I jam with friends. This being pretty much the only scale I like. And does it sound like he's about to go into the Stairway solo around 0:43

  • I remember , when i didnt know anything of music or guitar

I listened this song , I dont know how

I think it was the best , It is still the best for me

  • I came.

  • what tuning is this song!?

  • @SEVIL999 Tuning is standard EADGBE.

  • I like the bit with the guitar in ;)

  • joe's guitar speaks for him

  • we cant compare joe sat & vai u knw they both r gud frenz and gr8 pioneers of guitar for hte modern generation

  • maybe vai is better in term of technics, but he will never have the soul and the touch of satriani, joe have more sense of melody by far.

    thats my opinion

  • Great backing band. Bass, et al. Great record. Peace.

  • Please watch youtube.com/watch?v=8OEgVHF27Hs

  • i believe satriani is better than vai. however it is just my taste. i find his solos much more melodic than vai's. vai's sometimes seem somewhat.... messy, but still one of the best of all time.

  • the fact that he taught Vai does not mean that he is better than him....it was too many years ago man! He is my favorite guitar player, but I know that Vai is better...

  • @josevictor20 wrong.

  • สุดยอดเพลงโปรดดดด

  • @cokersX ? WTF are you sayin!!!!!!!??

  • awesome!

  • JUST CRUSHES IT! Been listening to this version for years and it's still epic.

  • @yoguy2k7 killer jam! Satch RULES

  • ]V[ E G A D E T ]-[

  • @wntersun666 does this video have anything to do with megadeth?? lol if they do then i missed it

  • I have a song list my 16 year old daughter calls my "happy song" list, and this little gem has overtaken Eric Johnson's "SRV" as top dog.

If you ain't feelin' right, play this tune and you will be ok.

  • One thing I hate bout these G3-ish gigs is that the people who watch are so into the guitar tech shit that they often forget it's a beautiful show. If I was there, I'd be 5% guitar player and 95% lighter-and-hands-in-the-air for this.

  • That ain't guitar soloing. That's singing with your guitar.

  • 28 people dislike the song and thats that! no need to make some joke about it!

  • @biggrungeluver i disagree, 28 people are obviously musically challenged

  • Ive got to learn this song before i die.

  • His song writing skills are unbeatable. Honestly, they're almost to the Led Zeppelin caliber. Hail to the king.

  • LOVE MAKING SONG

  • type in jeff beck 1 of 2 and it should be the top one, theres a couple of insane solos in there everyone should check it out!

  • I remember this was the first song of his that i listened to that got me interested in him...dam glad i clicked this video

  • great .i am a guitar lovers from holland age 58 . love this melody .thanks

  • This is the reason Satriani owns Malmsteen, he knows when to slow down and make it sound pretty

  • @vaibanez17 Congrats on being totally ignorant about genres. Satch is the fuckin boss, no question BUT Malmsteen is neoclassical and Satch plays blues / surfer rock, so that's like comparing apples to bananas.

They're both exceptionally good at their respective genre, Malmsteen can also write beautiful instrumental pieces aswell, he just approaches them differently to satch.

You really need to get more knowledge before makin a blanket statement proving you're an ignorant prick.

    Waste of skin.

  • @devymetalforlife hehe... Eric Johnson blows 'em both out of the water anyway, so there's really no sense arguing about it! ;)

  • @greyjohnstone It ain't really the same style between Eric and Joe... Both are really enjoyable anyway, so why start comparing them ?

  • the guy is a guitar god, amazing.

  • the guy is a guitar god, amazing.

  • I think that Vai and Satriani are equal in terms of skill.

    But Satriani writes better music.

  • UP JOE ^

  • best part...2:44

  • @12345Robin99 I agree actually.

The end of the solo is so boss.

  • @reeceyfezza yeah. the guy sure can play

  • what such a beautiful song 0_0

  • Props to the bass player, too. Listen to him during the final solo, real tasty playing.

Think its missing a few zeros

  • beautiful

  • The most AMAZING tone ive heard of all times... \m/

  • i think joe is better than vai ...

  • @Slashpower156 Of course he is! Who do you think taught Vai?

  • @JayRebel Joe XD

  • @Slashpower156 dont question me dickhole

  • @Slashpower156

ummm ya by far,,,he taught Vai....

  • @Slashpower156 I know that joe teaches to vai to play like this, then each who plays how wants, I need to learn english.

  • @betrayalofgod Me, too ...^^

  • @Slashpower156 It's like comparing shoes and apples. They're both incredible in different things.

    Love Joe :D

  • @Slashpower156 with good reason, he actually was Vai's teacher... lol

  • @Slashpower156 "better"? that term doesnt exist in guitar playing. The moment you gonna get a guitar , that moment you will realise everyone plays their shit. and dont try to copy someone else. They try to be unique

  • @CoolKwstas123 yes but i mean, I lilke it more when joe is playing . . .

  • @Slashpower156 I think joe is better than God

  • @luebbers03 go poop somewhere else why dont you

  • @luebbers03 go poop somewhere else why dont you

  • @luebbers03 Go poop somewhere else, why dont you.

  • @Slashpower156 Vai was joe's student.

  • @Slashpower156 he is in a way. they are both amazing artists. but close to equal.

  • @Slashpower156 better*?...hmm thats something that is purposely ill-undefined in music(Good music of course!) I think because its almost wholly subjective

  • Why is he so good at this?! lol

  • if in 2:35 to 2:45 yo don't feel nothing you aren't human

  • The thing I like about joe as opposed to most of the progressive guitarists out there is that he's so tasteful in everything he does. It's not just mind numbing shredding. He plays stuff that has a good melodic structure and a theme.

  • 28 people... oh f*ck that. Overused joke is overused.

This is a great composition that deserves to be played all over the world.

  • 28 people do not know what it is a solo guitar

  • Это вещь вообще!!!)))Один из крутейших гитар-менов!!!

  • he combines funk with metal and ballad

  • 2:53... I just cum!

  • i love the fact that he doesn't always resort to technical showoff douchebaggery (*cough* yngwie malmsteen *cough*) and actually pays attention to coming up with catchy, soulful and great-sounding melodies...i'm not a shred or metal fan, but i still love the satch's style

  • kra ele é o melhor nao tem igual !!

  • i love this song

its not that fast and crazy but its sounds awesome

  • 1:55 to 2:20

  • fantastic joe satriani *__________*

  • i just came

  • hi joe go global

  • the first bend at 2:20 is just SO smoth and nice and.......and......and.......HOLY SHIT

  • i liek the part where guitar go like doo dee doo dee doo wah wah wah

  • too bad the bass was so out of place, just a wonderful song

  • Comment removed

  • u simply forget everything and get in the song!

  • if satan comes up from hell and hear satch's songs he'll love the jesus christ again haha!

  • I wish I could walk out on stage, say "here's a new one", and play something like that, as if it's no big deal. Joe makes the majority of guitarist look like fools when he's done playing.

  • idol!!!!

  • Satriani's sound is so safe and tight... i hate it

  • he's a guitar players....guitar player....I BOW DOWN TO ONE OF THE MASTERS!!!!!

  • Absolutely awesome! Favorite satch song!

  • beautifull song !!! I like it so much !!! keep on moving Joe ! hehehe..........

  • Simply the most melodic yet somehow rocky song I have ever heard. I often fall asleep with this tune in my mind.

  • Besides the beauty of the song, he just plays it so damn perfectly and with so much style... 2:07 is so simple but -perfect-... love this...

  • great music dosent mean that it has ridiculously fast guitar solo. its only to let your fingers release all the emotions. it dosent care if its fast or not

  • you know what guys, its joe fucking satriani. he can do whatever the fuck he wants cause hes the god damn king. and if the king isnt afraid of making what some ppl think are mistakes, then it kind of explains itself. he doesnt care if you think he fucked up, hes still the king. lol so shut up. and keep playing

  • it was no mistake. i play, i watched, and i listened. did the same thing on my guitar in a completely different song....on purpose.

  • man i love this guy.

  • 27 are jealous.

  • Did anyone else notice the mistake at 3:37? Joe Satriani is an awesome player. So much emotion in the way he articulates the notes.

  • @johnbirdo he wasnt a mistake.if joe wants to sound like a mistake it damn sounds xD

  • @johnbirdo Hahahahaha that is so funny, that was no mistake. You're obviously not a Satch fan. That was a deliberate sound. Ask any Joe fan and they will tell you :P

  • @TheD0CT0RWH0fan It is a blatant mistake you idiot. I'm not taking anything against the guy, he can play like a god and I love his music. No guitar player is perfect, face the facts. As a guitar player myself, I have an ear for hearing mistakes. If you are saying it isn't a mistake, then you obviously don't play yourself. There is no way that at 3:37 he is phrasing that purposely. He completely scuffs the note, and then plays it after he scuffed it the first time. Shit happens, deal with it.

  • @johnbirdo As a matter of fact I do play, and I have a good ear for mistakes. I'm telling ya, that was no mistake. I bet you cringed when you heard what you thought was a stuff up? I know I do if I hear one, not at this point you're saying. There's no convincing you for you obviously think you know all about Joe Satriani's style of playing. God's make mistakes but not this time sorry.

  • @TheD0CT0RWH0fan No, I only cringe if someone blatantly plays out of key by a mistake.Dude it's a picking error. He scuffs the phrasing very obviously for gods sake.I don't know how you can argue that it isn't a mistake. If you think that this is some kind of specialty of Joes playing then you must be on crack. I would also be most interested to hear your explanation of why he decides to play the next note in an irregular rhythm, as you seem to think it wasn't a mistake? No-one phrases like that

  • @TheD0CT0RWH0fan The only other thing I could say is that he bends the note fully up and then mutes it before playing the next note. If this is the case, in my opinion, it is rather sloppy and doesn't sound very good.Obviously Blues influenced players always bend strings up fully and mute it straight off, and it sounds great. This instance though, it does not. It sounds like a mistake as (A) It probably is (I still think so) or (B) He rushed the phrasing, hence it sounding bad and like he fkd up

  • better than the cd version, amazing performance !!!!!!!!!!!

  • i believe his guitar skills sing for him!
