Great review Matt. I have to say it strikes me as very odd when people like this car. It looks like a 2001 Ford Escape to me. The interior is just as dated and in person is really down market. It's roomy but it just seems that the only thing keeping this thing at all competitive on the market is the Land Rover badge. So many better options out there as to be absurd in my eyes.

which is better choice for LR Freelander TD4 the automatic transmission or the manual gearbox?
My poor experience with diesel cars shows me that the diesel engine combine better with automatic but as I say I have poor experience with diesel cars and non whit SUV
i know this is bigger, better on offroad and expensive than my HONDA CRV EXL but comon, i test drove it and know that interior quality is weak. damn..why?
The JD Power 2010 UK survey showed marked improvements for LR with both the Freelander 2 and the Discovery 4. Auto Express ran the Driver Power 2010 survey which also showed a similar trend whilst making note of LR's poor performances in years before and highlighting the positive changes. I won't say this proves LR ownership to be bulletproof but based on those surveys, I wouldn't be so hasty as to rubbish the idea of considering a Freelander 2, especially given it's acknowledged talents offroad
@roundtr1p Don't know where you've got your info from, but Land Rovers aren't the least reliable cars in the UK. If they were, why would they be the #1 choice for going across places wherte your life is in danger if you break down (deserts etc).
MG are the least reliable - have been in surveys for years.
I'd choose anything but a shitty Kia - Korean company.
