kurosawa gan san will be kick all those candy asses with a stock NSX ¬¬ (im not a honda or acura fan, but im a fan of the gan san, the "fastes" in the best motoring series ^^ that old man is isane fast...)
even so, Cheering or anything like that is wrong regardless, yes, there was no sudden stop as such, but there was a sudden change in direction, there is no rule as to what sort of impact is worse,
people have died at much lower speeds, and also survived much faster impacts, and the driver was did not appear to be moving for the time it took me to run the length of the pit wall.
The driver was badly shaken and lived to see another day.
Read the back of your ticket and it will tell you 'Motorsport is dangerous' it's not on there for a joke
Again, you obviously had no idea what you where watching, it was a STANDARD (AFAIK) road going car with NO harness and NO roll cage. Never nice to see this sort of thing happen. Would you have applauded or put your thumb up if it where a family member of yours? I think not.....
end of the day it was the drivers fault for crashing and anyone who goes on a track in their car should be prepared for it, and be prepared for people watching to take the piss if they crash.
this happend right in front of us!! and yeah it was absolutly heart-wrenching to watch!!! my heart goes out to the poor guy!!! and anyone that clapped and cheered at this... deserves a smack round the back of the head =P
I have to say giving the 'thumbs up' at the end is in very poor taste and to try and justify it by saying "He got off lightly as he lives, so a round of applause for that, and then he entertained the crowd too, another round of applause!" is just plain stupid. I don't think he was trying to "entertain The crowd".
"it would have been installed with a rollcage, proper harnesses, all sorts" it was a standard road car you numbnuts!
I very much doubt it, as you can see from the motion of the car theres no dramatic decrease in speed which is one cause of injury in a crash, second is being crushed yourself but as you can see theres no life threatening damage to the main section of the car- it would have been installed with a rollcage, proper harnesses, all sorts. He got off lightly as he lives, so a round of applause for that, and then he entertained the crowd too, another round of applause!
overcorrection

I was there, first on scene and watched the incident happen, the guy driving was just unfortunate, bit over eager,

The cars on these 'Action days' are mostly just road going cars, it is very rare to find one with a roll cage (which none of the nsx's were),

Not really appropriate clapping at that mishap is it? The guy could have been seriously hurt for all you know.
