  • still a very disturbing ending after having seen this so many years back, A terrific movie but really sad at the end.

  • i wish those girls received the death sentence or life in prison

  • @MrSuperGeekster naw. they were minors. five years and they never saw each other again. one's actually a famous murder mystery author.

  • @cleigh3 interesting. However, no one can deny, that was great film making

  • I remember seeing this movie when I was..eh, probably 12 or 13. I don't think I got through the entire movie the first time, and the second time I watched it all the way through, this scene really stuck with me. Just hearing the mother moan, then scream. *shudders* Talk about f-ing disturbing.

  • never has a movie left me with such a cold feeling. some brutally amazing performances were accompanied with this movie

  • 5 minutes later and I regret watching that!

  • @TheMitchellWhite Me too! Someone told me to watch it and said it "wasn't that bad"! Oh my god!! It's horrible...one of the worst scenes of killing i have ever seen!!

  • I had to sleep in my dad's bed after seeing this. I"m forcing myself to watch it over and over again until it isn't disturbing as FUCK anymore and will get out of my head. So far no luck. 7th time watching it.

  • They're both still alive, one a reclusive, the other a bestselling crime writer. I'm sure you can guess who ....

  • those two were nuts, insted of going to prison they should have been thrown into an insane house and have the keys out of reach and never released

  • I remember seeing this movie when about 11-12 years old. This scene particularly effected greatly.

  • And these girls got treated in a parental manner in prison and were released by the age of 21??

    Damn that sucks...........

  • oh fuck this is so brutal

  • I have the uncut version on DVD, and for some reason, right after this scene with Pauline fades out, a quick shot of her crying on the trail with her face bloodied flashes in at the final scream. I have no idea why they decided to do that. This ending with just the fade out is so much more haunting.

  • This is me and my bestfriend..... >:]

  • Let this be a lesson to yez! Eat pussy; you will go nuts and stave someones skull in.

  • I have never seen a movie with an ending this hard to watch, but this is a true Peter Jackson masterpiece.

  • you call this a great scene!? this is the scene that left me completely destroyed in sadness! seeing such a loving and caring mother being killed my her ungrateful crazy and immature daughter! GROW UP!! ALL that BS they wrought in there diaries should be scent to hell! its pure evil! disguised as two lil girls making a crazy world!!!!! I hope to meet her mother in heaven and give her a big hug!:'( i hate this movie!!!!!!!! it left me devastated!to see the loving mother die in such a cruel way!

  • @teta809 Well done, you have just felt the empathy the director intended!

  • @teta809 they were crazy! and this is really a great scene. Not because the mom is getting beat to fuckin death but because these actresses were able to portray such a horrific event so honestly and ugly the way life can be. Like this guy said, empathy. Not just putting yourself in the mom's place, but also the girls. You can't say they were completely evil, they were still human

  • @paulrob555 When it comes to movie making- this film had really dedicated young actresses and of course Peter J. But this accomplished so much of what it intended that it left me devastated. As a human this is a horrific scene, but as a movie critic this IS a great scene. This is one of those films where it's just too sad to watch again. They are not evil, but they show what happens when you decide to live with your own morals by creating her own rules with a friend in that diary.

  • @paulrob555 Olol yeah they seemed totally not evil to me too :|

    Seek help!

  • DYK the scene was filmed in the exact same spot where the girls murdered Pauline's mother in real life.

  • @clashrogers really? wow thats scary

  • I remember seeing that bit when I was a kid and it stuck in my head for ages. Proper shit film though.

  • @Meteddica Haha yeah, me too. It fucking disturbed me for a few days after seeing it. But yeah, the film was shit.

  • Lezberados! :D

  • ya wheres the last shot

  • On my last comment the first sentence I mean about the whole movie not just this video

  • I don't know whether I liked it or not, there were good and bad parts. but I can think of many other ways they could have killed the mother that they would not have been caught

  • Asda just used the same piece of music for one of their commercials. FAIL!

  • @HeatherOfOz: hahahahaha COW!!!!

  • Escalofríooo! D: ! Me dejo mal la escena x3! es buena la película *u*!

  • The cow who killed her mum says she regrets it.

  • Joder que pedazo de escena...los pelos como escarpias,oiga..

  • Melanie Lynskey (Pauline) was not a professional actress when this movie was made. You cannot tell ! Great movie, based upon a true story, sadly enough.

  • One of the greatest.

  • I loved this movie, it was really good.
