I was there in april this year and it was crazy. After 2 days it was normal to me and I had no problems. I am from germany and I was born in a city with 250thousand people.
Hahaha I was there in the summer. There are twice as many cars all going twice as fast. When we had to cross the street, we just crossed our fingers and walked across, hoping no one would hit us. they all get within like an inch of you then slam the brakes. Never a dull moment touring Roma!
This is crazy, but I have to say Italians are really good drivers. Here in the U.S. there would be a 10 car stacked on top of each other. There is no way I could drive like that. I would just give up, and let them hit me ha.
Yes I would. This chaos relies on the concept, that nobody has the ultimate right to drive. Infact, everyone is quite observant of the other cars and people. When you start walking, somboby will stop. Just be confident and walk.
Ever heard of China? This is considerably light traffic, I'd not be phased by this. And at least people don't honk and crash into each other like here in America. Love Rome!!!
what's wrong with this intersection (venezia square) ? I live in Rome and this is normal everytime. But you didn't show there is always a traffic policeman
@RitalMan2000 that's insane. I hardly think a german could find his way around, and they are pretty skilled drivers. Getting through there with no accidents says something about italian drivers.
yes but not in that cross...there's municipal policemen who are the ones who have to take cares of street rules but they are just like mannequins there. I just say thousands of shit when i pass there with the scooter.
no. couse the place is huge... would be impossible to do that. first becouse there are 6 streets coming in, second becouse in that square no car are allowded anymore. third couse those are one of the most important buinldong in the world.. no traffic lighs on it are permitted...
@RitalMan2000 we would never be ignorant enough to make an intersection like this.

Gli americani hanno ragione. Ci vorrebbe come minimo un semaforo all'incrocio. E almeno due vigili urbani.
