Whenever someone tries an ankle lock on me I instantly try to defend it with high caution, since I know all the dangers of it. But Imanari is one of the best in the world at ankle locks, and tapped out many BJJ black belts, so I would probably just tap before he even secures it, if that was me lol.

For those wondering why Imanari maims so many people: it probably isn't him being malicious. They're just much, much more dangerous than arm-locks. In order to do it properly you have to really, really crank the leg, which is why people who are masters at heel-hooks (Shamrock in his prime, Imanari) have such imposing reputations. It isn't because they want to hurt the other guy, they just want to win.

That is just how Imanari fights. He has his own way of doing things in a match and before you know it he gets various attempts at submissions, especially leg locks.
