I accidentally found my first ever cheat in this game back when I was a kid - at the beginning of the game do not fire at anything but dodge all things coming at you for about 30 seconds, then let them kill you. You will lose a life but come back with a full wing of Homing missiles. :) I last played this game in about 1988 at a fish and chip shop. lol

@cwilbr also if you can dodge the shots untill you get pat the big pond it takes you right up to the half way point of the game with shit loads of score

There is a simple trick to slap fight. Let the first enemy at the beginning on the left kill you on their first shot. Youll come back with full weopans.

do a search for MAME emulator on the internet, then do a search for a site called romhustler. Alcon isnt emulated but Slap Fight is. download the slapfight, slapfight (english bootleg) roms and play away.

@Knuttelutt1 : Just get the MAME emulator running. After that you'll need the original ROM images... ask the search engine of your preference for them ^^

There's a secret in this game. If you let yourself die without shooting at anything at the begining, you'll come back fully powered-up...

Also, if you only use shot (you can still get speed ups, and wings) until you nearly reach the blue pipes area, a small ship appears and helps you out (if player 2 controls are on, it can be controlled by player 2)

I remember the Arcade game over 20 years ago. There was a sort of cheat, if you avoid the enemy bullets and don't fire any of your own bullets for about 1 minutes games play then crash your ship you get level 5 arms (Full armaments) a waste of a life but a neat little cheat. This and Terra Cresta I would play for hours. Awesome games.

yes it is...... download it for mame (multi arcade machine emulator) for your PC. other than that it was ported on the Mega Drive in the early 90's, but there hasn't been a recent port onto a modern console and tbh I don't think there will be one either.

You only can't recover if you've got no skill.

Anyone who gets homing missile is a retard. Its useless when it gets fast. Laser and shot are all you need.

The the longer you survive without scoring the further in the game the you start later. By reaching the fountain at the beginning you will be wrapped before the second Boss (The one with the two mobile wings).

FRAPS runs on my old PC with unplayable speed.

I don't have slap fight PCB (yet).

besides, my cheap capture card can not capture Supergun's signal.

I had dazzle usb capture device that can capture some arcade games using my supergun, but it is gone.

so, I used laptop to run MAME and desktop to record. (laptop has S-video output)

This game, like Twin Cobra and Flying Shark, was developed originally by Toaplan and was published in the arcades by Taito. Just wanted you to know that. ;) !
