Because even people at the time would not have exactly the same as Africans that are there now due to climate conditions etc. Even in Africa physical traits have been changing for thousands of years, on top of the fact that no people 'came' from anyone else in the species sense. The so called races are not at all evidence of any sort of evolution within the species, they are only physical traits produced by the amount of melanin in ones skin. That is why they said it this way.

I've lived in Japan for 11 years, and I can tell you that many Japanese (even the young) believe themselves to be a unique race, superior to others. They refute even their Mongolian/Chineese cultural ancestry. For example the karate was originally from China. The original Kanji read 'China hand'. The Japanese changed the meaning of the Kanji 'Kara' to mean 'empty', this was done to hide the truth, and pretend a unique Japanese culture.

I have sometimes thought that Japanese sounds similar to some African languages.

However, physically, I believe Japanese people are much more simliar to other Asians than Africans.

I sometimes feel that people put too much emphasis on genetics and argue about it too much =)

@CameroonStar -it's best not to believe everything u watch....i'm an anthropology student and just a few weeks back, our professor was talking about sensationalist documentaries, tv shows, and magazines like national geographic and even discovery channel...not that they always present wrong facts but rather, it's important to remember that they cater to the popular audience..and their work/finding aren't exactly scholarly.

@TheXanian I lived in S. Korea for quite a while. Your statement is not accurate for all. We can't blame an entire group of people by the experience that you may have had or heard from a few. S. Koreans have a rich heritage and genetics are proving that they are older than they thought. Their history is being VALIDATED by science. Just as others' so called history is being dispelled.

Comparing to all human beings, Japanese's Y-DNA D is the most close relatives to Modern Africans (Y-DNA E).

All the rest ethnics groups split with modern Africans at M168/P9 branch, while Japanese's D class split with modern Africans at a much late stage of Y-DNA M145/M203 branch.

Go read any paper about Y-DNA of human ethnics you will understant that.

CameroonStar: This is interesting because we have the Jomon people in my tribe they're fair skin and bare similar traits (slant eyes) maybe it's coincidence I don't know. Those people are from the riverine area of Ondo State of Nigeria, some of them are in Cameroon as fishermen. Could they be of the same ancestral genes? I wish I could do the findings.

I wondered about that too! I speak four African languages, and I have heard a lot of Japanese and its sounds so similar. Especially names like Tanaka (that's an African name btw). If you know more please share
