Hyundai has got their shit together. I bought the 2012 accent. Years ago when I used to detail cars (03) at the Hyundai Dealership, the accents were a fucking joke. Now, almost 10 years later, they are NO jokes. They LOOK nice this time around, and for a 1.6 liter 130 hp(?) engine, it moves really quick. Though it does help being that its a 6 speed Auto (even in stick, its a 6 speed)

Hybrid engines are overrated. You DON'T NEED a hybrid to get great gas mileage......ask geo metro owners. The metro was released in the mid 90s I think with several trims. One trim offered a whopping 70 mpg highway on a pure gasoline engine. What the hell happened to that technology? Why is 35 mpg hwy so great today? A car that offered far better mpg was in the market years ago.

It's this one or the Elantra.....but if the Veloster fails to make a summer appearance at my local Hyundai dealer, I don't think my poor old Nissan Murano can make it into the fall......
Wow this looks a like the Hyundai version of the Lexus CT200h only its a lot cheaper, get amazing gas mileage for not being a hybrid and it comes with all the bell and whistles at a justifiable price tag. Whats not to love??
Wow for a compact Hyundai this is quite impressive. From a side profile the car looks like a shrunken version of an ACURA ZDX, possibly its door handles make the resemblance. This car looks a little ahead of its time, very cool if I say so myself. It almost looks like a concept vehicle rather then a production vehicle. I commend you Hyundai.

i have had 3 hyundai's and they have all been just great and awesome. first one was a 91 excel second a 97 elantra and last but not least and still going 99 accent. thus saying this I LOVE HYUNDAI'S.

Sat in this at the Chicago Autoshow...The rear door made everyone look shocked which made me feel cool that I knew there was one. I am 6' tall and thought the squared off front driver-side doors provided great visibility, I adjusted the seat comfortably, then got in the rear passenger door (there is no rear driver's side) and easily slid over to the back left seat. While leg room was just ok I was amazed that I fit with comfort in the back. The hatch opens over the head of the rear occupants.
I love the style.....I am considering a Hyundai Elantra or this one...Depends on how it drives and how much of a blind spot there is....judging from the back of the car, there seems to be a significant blind spot...Looks can be deceiving, of course..
I'm really impressed with Hyundai...Honda has great cars, but they are too expensive..Toyota is too boring. Hyundai is well...just awesome. Lots of value for the right price while looking and feeling much more expensive.

I bought a new Tiburon in January of '04 and it is still going strong, it has 170,000 miles on it and has given me just absolutely great service. I am giving the Veloster some serious consideration as a practical, budget option if my Tiburon ever quits!
I have heard that the matte grey is NOT a production color and I am almost sure that the U.S. spec car will not have HID up front or LED outback. Everything is better in Europe!!

Holy crap! I first looked at this and thought meh... but after seeing it in that color i'm liking it. Plus the pre-commercial shoots where the car is tearing around make it really seem solid and well put together. Hyundai just isn't giving up. I think they're in for the long haul. @matrixloader 208 HP still isn't great. I just don't see why a company tries to make a sporty/edgy car (even if I think it's ugly) and then turn around and say its actually an economical car. It looks like a fast and sporty car, but it'll take about a year to reach 60 MPH. Make one or the other.

@jonvagnier You can't be serious. The Mustang GT has M3-rivaling performance for a fraction of the cost. The Boss 302 costs as much as an M3 and blows it away. The GT500 slaps the Camaro SS (and soon the ZL1) and Challenger SRT-8 392. The V6, which, at base, costs as much as this does, has 305 HP. Oh, and the GT350 has Corvette-rivaling acceleration. Ah, well, I guess you're entitled to your opinion, even if it is wrong.

Sat in this at the Chicago Autoshow...The rear door made everyone look shocked which made me feel cool that I knew there was one. I am 6' tall and thought the squared off front driver-side doors provided great visibility, I adjusted the seat comfortably, then got in the rear passenger door (there is no rear driver's side) and easily slid over to the back left seat. While leg room was just ok I was amazed that I fit with comfort in the back. The hatch opens over the head of the rear occupants.

I love the style.....I am considering a Hyundai Elantra or this one...Depends on how it drives and how much of a blind spot there is....judging from the back of the car, there seems to be a significant blind spot...Looks can be deceiving, of course..
I'm really impressed with Hyundai...Honda has great cars, but they are too expensive..Toyota is too boring. Hyundai is well...just awesome. Lots of value for the right price while looking and feeling much more expensive.

I bought a new Tiburon in January of '04 and it is still going strong, it has 170,000 miles on it and has given me just absolutely great service. I am giving the Veloster some serious consideration as a practical, budget option if my Tiburon ever quits!
I have heard that the matte grey is NOT a production color and I am almost sure that the U.S. spec car will not have HID up front or LED outback. Everything is better in Europe!!

Like most new Hyundai designs -- overstyled. I'd wait for the Kia counterpart (the Rio I suppose?). The sheet metal on the new Kias is tighter, cleaner, and just plain better executed.

Holy crap! I first looked at this and thought meh... but after seeing it in that color i'm liking it. Plus the pre-commercial shoots where the car is tearing around make it really seem solid and well put together. Hyundai just isn't giving up. I think they're in for the long haul. They want market share, and they want it bad!
