This was my favorite of all Chelsea's dances. I think it showcased what she does best- acting. Also, Mark has some of the most creative and entertaining dance moves integrated into this number so it didn't feel like any jive. It made a unique and lasting impression on the audience for sure and I think the judges neglected to show that in their scores.

This is the best dance i've seen on this show or possibly ever! It had jive I don't understand what the judges were thinking. I wasn't surprised though, usually the dances that are liked by judges are boring
@kaileebee14 I don't agree. I usually like the dances that the judges like, I don't find them boring. For example, Lance and Lacey's jitterbug was amazing and high energy. There are a lot of other examples (especially Derek related). I'm pretty sure that the judges liked Sabrina's cha cha (even though there was hip hop in it so there were a couple points knocked off). Also, didn't Carrie Ann say that she liked this dance, only that it wasn't the time for choreography like this?
This was really good, and I adore Mark, But Carrie Ann was right there was a time and place and it wasn't it. It was too early, plus the Jive? Who cares Mark is the ChaCha Man :)
The judges are sort of dumb. They're supposed to be judging the celebrity on how well they execute dance moves, not the pros on how well they choreograph a dance routine. I don't much know what a jive is supposed to consist of, but I think she danced very well. Much better than a five, whether or not the routine "had enough jive."
@thelioness0809 In order for the judges to correctly judge the celebrity they have to have a good choreographer, and I am not saying anything bad about Mark, I love him, but he should have known better than to do a more freestyle Jive that early in the show
I think Mark is playing tactics & trying to please the voters at home more. The last time he had a Disney star that was an amazing dancer (Sabrina Bryan), they got kicked off early because not enough people voted for them. Disney stars' existing fanbase is prob too young & they're trying to get the DWTS audience to vote instead
@ba4774 He did follow the rules he wasn't being arrogant. He was just trying to do something creative because they gave him such a non traditional jive song. Try dancing a traditional jive to Panic at the Disco it would look terrible because it just doesn't fit that isn't Mark's fault he did the best he could with what he was given IMO.
I think she got such low scores because she did way to good way to early in the competition. That is the kind of dance that could have been like the last dance of the season. It was soooo good. She definately didn't deserve those scores.....it should have been all 10's but you know they are not going to give those kind of scores to her, being only her second dance of the competition.

Most entertaining dance I've ever seen on DWTS. It had difficult and unique choreography and was beautifully executed. Chelsea and Mark gained a fan in me with this stunning dance! :)

I LOVED IT !!! It was Absolutely Fabulous and I can't stand when Len can't handle entertainment and talent together at once. Mark did a Awesome job with Chelsea and she is FANTACTIC and I really hope she makes it to the very end!
I felt like the judges kept blaming mark for everything when they were bashing the choreography. I loved the performance! I mean, would u rather have everyone doing the usual jive? Or see a funky little spin on it? They did great. It doesn't hurt to be unique lol
@Jessica76649 Monday nights are when the couples preform. (8pm it starts over on the Eastern Pacific Time). Then Tuesday at 8 or 9 (I'm not sure) the results come on. :)

I loved this but it was a very lose interpretation of the jive.... her kicks and flicks were good, but the actual jive steps were pretty flawed (she rarely closed her feet on the chasses) she was slumped to far forward (even for jive posture). So although this was exceptionally entertaining, I think they deserved the scores given... ( I only wish they did the technique and creativity marks separately).
@3mm49 They were sub-par and didn't do the jive. What more is there to say? That's like taking a test and writing in answers that are correct for science but it's a test on math.

@TopherBroaddus For your information this is a JIVE it had all the require elements of Jive I think Mark knows more about it then you do and it was very entertaining jive just because some people are stuck in 1950 doesn't mean everyone is. This is a dancing competition and they danced a good jive not best it had technical problems, but not deserving of a 5 and if you really know dancing then you'd see that.

They stole the costume theme from the music video and probably used the music since Panic at the Disco are/have released a new album and have started touring again. It's payola. If you knew anything about the music industry, you'd get that.

They used it because it went with the theme of the dance obviously and if you work in the music industry as you say then you should realize that DWTS costume designers often incorporate costumes that go along with music videos or movies that featured the songs used. Why do you keep commenting about the dance if you dislike it so much some objectivity you have please sounds more like a personal grudge, but whatever you aren't the King of Anything lol.

Mark is not the only pro to create a dance based around a popular musical or music video and he won't be the last. This was very original and creative and way more enertaining than anything you've ever come up with I'm sure.
I was so irritated at carrie-Ann and Len giving them a crappy score (the only one that had an ounce of creativity was Bruno- gotta love the guy)! I thought this dance was hilariouslly entertaining (in a good way). I saw some jive moves that were similiar to derek and julianne performing the jive (whatever season it was)!
This was most creative routine of the night by far, but I knew as soon as I saw the doors and outfits Len would hate it. He's such an old stick in the mud then Carrie ann had to be a jerk too. So much of what is shown on this show is been there done that at least this was Unique and Cool choreography and still did have Real Jive in there. Mark did his best with the weird non jive song they gave him. Hope they at least make it past Week 1 to try again cause I like this couple.

@alexisrg7 I never said DWTS was unoriginal. I just said the costumes for this specific dance was. Also, last seasons Bristol Palin... "Chicago" dance(i think?) was unoriginal too. That actually cost them points.

@TopherBroaddus Bristol's bad dancing cost them points. Chelsea is much better dancer than her. Mark is not the only pro to create a dance based around a popular musical or music video and he won't be the last. This was very original and creative and way more enertaining than anything you've ever come up with I'm sure.

I was so irritated at carrie-Ann and Len giving them a crappy score (the only one that had an ounce of creativity was Bruno- gotta love the guy)! I thought this dance was hilariouslly entertaining (in a good way). I saw some jive moves that were similiar to derek and julianne performing the jive (whatever season it was)!

This was most creative routine of the night by far, but I knew as soon as I saw the doors and outfits Len would hate it. He's such an old stick in the mud then Carrie ann had to be a jerk too. So much of what is shown on this show is been there done that at least this was Unique and Cool choreography and still did have Real Jive in there. Mark did his best with the weird non jive song they gave him. Hope they at least make it past Week 1 to try again cause I like this couple.
