Going to get some Mickie D's now you useless plant murderer, they provide vital oxygen that our planet needs and you clowns are killing living things.
PETA and Peter Singer are not major proponents of veganism. Sure, they promote it. But their main goal is so-called "ethical treatment," which is like murdering in a nice way, it just doesn't mix. It's great that they've gotten so many people to change the way they view non-human animals, but the true change lies in changing the idea of animals as property to the ideology of animals being fellow earthlings, with whom we should co-exist and harmonize, rather than kill simply for taste.
This man is a Hypocrite... I live in wonderful Austin, TX. Just so happens to be the hometown of the Linklater family. I went to school with his daughter, Lorelie for the first part of this year. Last night I was biking home after my rowing practice and decided to run by a local fast food place called P-terry's. guess who I saw eating there with his wife and 3 daughters...
Sometimes we all slip up and do the big stupid... We are not perfect! It's great that he's doing what he's doing what ever he may choose to personally eat!
Ummm... I'm not sure whether or not he was eating a veggie burger or a normal one... but my bet's on veggie. but what I'm saying is hypocritical is him even eating there. I mean... he wages war on fast food and then goes to a fast food place... that's all I'm saying.
In all honesty, I go to certain places because of my family... although I have things special made. Most people don't realize you can walk into many establishments and tell them you're vegetarian or vegan and believe me, they will go out of their way... if you don't trust the waiter, ask for the manager I have always had a very positive outcome and no doubt inspired my server to think about their personal choices. If all else fails, I always go with old faithful.. garden salad & baked potato
I'm not sure how these comments work when were on a thread like this, but hey, it's all good. I know what you mean, I do get it, he probably shouldn't be in a fast food establishment. I don't visit taco, mcdeath, kfc etc... just the larger restaurants, but they all have processed stuff. You almost need to be a scientist these days to know what you are being served. Buyer beware ;o) I keep everything very basic and simple... it's the only way for me.
That makes sense. I do have to say that I've gotten a veggie burger at burger king just to encourage them for having it on the menu but now that I've seen vids of how long the burgers from those places last (years without any signs of spoilage) it's scary to even eat that at one of those places!
@1GreenDayIsTheShit1 Bilderberg Group behind US Gov, Monsanto,.. they see human, animals like numbers! Period. So wake up human kind and cultivate self awareness, stop eating that fast food, meat..
I don't eat animal products, birds and fish because like people, they feel pain and fear before they got killed. Not mention that after killing the meat contains their hormones of death, pain and fear.
Not just bad karma, bad for health and environment, not to mention those poor animals. You are a smart person and I only wish you a long life and good health with that.
Why kill the messenger? Why is he a coward? You benefit from people like him you asshole!! You think these corporations give a fuck about you? People like him gave you a 40 hour work week, safety standards for automobiles, etc. Go on being one of the lemming, teetering precariously on the precipice of your ignorance.
the director is a liar - "Greed" is the ingredient that gives Fast Food Nation its flavor. Schlosser seems utterly shocked that these businesses exist... in order to make money! And to rage against business, Schlosser had no problem in engaging in what The Wall Street Journal called "cavalier manipulation of data."
And also, corporations need to consider the workers more. Their saftey, wages and how hard they work. Yet I know I know the animals are being treated cruel. That dosen't stop me from eating meat! But it definatly needs to be done more responsibly just so our produce can be more sanitary.
I love a good old fashioned hamburger every now and then. I'm not one of those greenies tree hugging freaks. I love steak. Yea the animals shouldn't be treated that way cause the meat would just be crappy. It needs to be done responsibly.
I haven't had a burger or stopped by a McBurger King fast food joint in 20 years and haven't missed it a bit. There are so many tasty meatless foods available for vegetarians today that it makes no sense not to try to give up eating meat. You can eat food that tastes good and reap major health benefits while stopping animal suffering and protecting the environment. If everyone just cut 25% of the meat they eat the nationwide impact would be enormous.Try it. You'll like it!
It's a waste of time to talk to someone with a closed and very small mind like yours. And by the way...my balls are doing just fine. Have a nice day .....
Bravo - that takes guts! In my mind, your a true human (and healthy no doubt).
Have you had the chance to watch the documentary "Earthlings" 10 / 10 well worth the watch..... I have it on my "playlist" or just google it and it's full length under "google videos". If you decide to watch it - great, but do let me know what you think.
I watched most of the documentary "Earthlings" onYouTube. I'm numb. I've read many books over the years about vegetarianism but have seen few films concerning the horrific treatment of the animals we consume and abuse for our own so called "needs"..If I wasn't already a vegetarian, I would be now ! It's hard to watch but we must not hide our heads in the sand and hope for the best.Only by exposing these cruelties can we hope to inform and change the status quo. Thank You Di.
So, by saying things like "your individual action does count" and that your choices are important, this director, who ADAPTED this film from a book (or did you not get that) is a "scab on American society?" You're the scab. Ignorance and haste to criticize someone with alternative ideas.
Working at a meat packing plant sucks, but it has to be done, they provide us food. People like this director creates problems that aren't there and has no solutions, there a scab on AMerican society.
Its people like the director that taint gullable people and they believe this horse sh&* This movie is slandering all meat packing plants, not everybusiness is perfect.
