  • Sorry but something has happened to this vid. Its been condensed to 2 seconds.

    I don't know why - I haven't changed anything. ( YOUTUBE have messed it up!! )

It used to work ok. It works at normal speed on my Android phone.

    Very strange !!

  • that was quick...

  • The video is broken..

    Its only 2sec..

  • what speed???500 km/h??

  • Pero ¿que ha sido eso?, si no me ha dado tiempo ni a percatarme. Saludos

  • cañoones esos citrucas carajo ! jaja si fueran 3cv mas todavia !

  • 2cv rules!!

  • simply amazing ;)

  • Mitica la 2cv...........hi hi hi

  • Those things are motorized egg cartons with independent suspension. I wouldn't expect anything less.

  • 2 wheel drive baby. damn right. i can tell it is the 2wd version. it only has vents in the front. the 4wd version, has 2 motors, 2 ends driving both forward. thus four wheel drive.

  • Sorry but they are both 4x4s. They have a single engine and Louise Barbour 4WD conversion. One of the owners has already commented below.

  • They are NOT twin engined Saharas but single engined 4x4 conversions. rear diff clearly visible at 0:33

  • sorry, meant 0:20

  • both were 4WD conversions, you can see the second transfer box as they drive away. Great conversion but it kills the top speed.

  • Yes the one in Hereford was purple. It was a woman driving it.

  • that was pete sparrows "! As they are just the normal version (two wheels-traction). " and they are 4x4 as one is my dads

  • Amazing! They have a lot of grip! As they are just the normal version (two wheels-traction).

  • I saw a 2cv 4x4 tonight in Morrisons car park Hereford, Never seen one before, clever I thought.

  • was the one in hereford purple?

  • Ahahahahh very funny! I'ld like to see many "modern off roads" to do that!

  • the 2cv was awesome car. GRRRREAT rally car, if you dont mind going very slowly of course. not fast at any thought. but they can go absolutely anywhere. if you like off road. come to my group: truck trials.

  • hello my English is not very good, someone I could say that's what they do have these 2cv wonders that traccino have 4x4, reducing blocking? that machine and bring those horses have fuersa.

  • Do you think a real 2cv Sahara would do even better (2 engines) or would its extra weight offset these custom jobs?

  • Interesting question! I'd love to see the two different types compared head to head off-road. Power vs low weight. I wouldn't like to gamble any money on this contest!LOL

Im no 2CV expert but I guess a lot depends on the gearing.

  • I love the clapping; So british ;-)

  • this is my dad (blue car) and friend(black car) we often go to lang dale quest in a yellow 2cv pick up

  • COOL !! :)

They sure put on a show this particular day. Just wish i'd took more film of them. They showed some of the big guns how its done!

As you can see, this has become a very popular video. I'll keep a look out for you on Youtube.

    All the best, Hiluxdaddy.

  • the company that does the 4wd 2cvs is called Louise Barbour

  • Ok mate, thanks for the info.

  • not sure on how the 4x4 works, its thru to a gearbox in the back. heres a website of the guy that makes em. . .(sorry but its not working.)

check out 2cv langdale video aswell...

  • A mate of mine used to trial a 2CV with a supercharger which he designed and built himself..it was still a 2WD

  • Awesome! Bet that went well. I guess the supple, compliant suspension plays a big part in their off-road ability, 2WD or 4WD.

  • was he called Guy?

  • What a nice change to see a different type of 4 wheel drive in action!

  • Yeh, these bad boys provided more entertainment than the rest of us put together. Just wish i'd taken more film of them !!

  • are these 4x4 2cv?

  • yes, both 4x4 2CVs.

  • Aren't those very rare?

  • lol

  • i know that citroen produced 2cv's that were 4x4, but theywere equiped whith 2 engines.

1 in the front and 1 in the back ( i belive they where called 'Sahara' ,but i could be wrong)

Now a days here is a company in england that converts 2cv's to 4x4.. but with 1 engine in the front an axle to the back.

i go search a video of it righ now and post it.

  • 4x4?

  • Yes, 4x4.

(I don't know much about these cars or how the 4WD operates - Can anyone inform us?)

  • Basically, one of the gearbox shafts is extended to drive an "empty" gearboxcasing placed at the rear containg nohting but a diff (with on/off difflock). You go from 2x4 to 4x4 by connecting the propshaft, very simple and yet effective.

  • Thanks for this. Well explained too.

I guess its another fine example to prove that simple ideas are usually the best.

  • No comments from over 1000 viewers?? Come on don't be shy. I know these cars have a massive following :)

This is what the British Off-road scene is lacking - variety. Its all Landrover Landrover Landrover. It always pleasing to see other makes of vehicle off-roading. What do you think?
