  • I keep my fingers crossed for you! :) really great video, thanks a lot ˇˇ

  • isn't she the cutest :)

  • so true....

  • @ToothEnvy -- Would a Nursing degree (Registered Nursing) be of substance before applying for GAMSAT?

  • what was your atar? sorry if its too personal, i'm just really interested as to how high the atars are usually, for the medical students. even though the minimum requirement is around 96, apparently most students that get into medical school have a much higher atar. so i was just wondering

  • ooohhh... just love ur voice and accent.. Good info bdw. thanks for posting.

  • You are so, so, lovely. I really admire you, and the fact that you can draw AND you are a doctor! Thank you for your lovely videos. <3

  • Hello :)

    Really Nice Video :D

    Thanx For The Info :D

  • @OfficialAla straight A is good, but you need more soft skills in med school. Usually the straight A students do well in the pre-clinic (when you only involve with the awfully thick text books, cadaver or microscope). But to be a good clinician, soft skill is a must. How to interact, behave, start a communication and building trust is somehing can't be learned from the book.

  • Do you sometime pull an all nighter?

  • Nice Video, its great to hear that in your university some ppl expend time in trying to cheer up the new ones....Over here in Mexico the hardest years are the first two when you have no contact with real patients.. and you just learn basic sciences thats where most of ppl says..."I'm quitting" "this aint for me" "I didn´t sign up for math or chemistry" haha once you are on third year everything is happier =P (having in mind there's only 4 years in here + internship+ social service= 6 med years)

  • its sad to know that a med student encourages other students to consume junk food instead of heailthy foods. Do some research and you can find out how it negatively affect the brain's synapses. Even 1-2 servings a day

  • i just had a seizure

  • i googled medusa..Deakin? :)

  • medschool is about reading, reading, reading. For pre-clinic: read-read-read. For clinic: read-read-read and compare-compare-compare. Compare what you've read with the history/symptoms on the patient; and also the treatment.

Use all of ur senses to absorb the materials. Read (use ur eyes), make a short summary (use ur hand-skin), listen to ebooks, smell the typical scents.

  • @incitu i have straight a's in all my sciences...the maths...OH MY GOD...Lord have mercy haha...i really want to be a doctor though! i mean, I'm a hard worker but maths is just not in my genes...I mean, I can't picture myself being anything other than a doctor, does math really determine whether i will be one or not?

  • This is actually really cool i am a 8th grader and im already determined to become a Neuro Surgeon. It would be great if u could respone and tell me what med school is actually like. Good luck in med school. =)

  • @toothenvy

I was wondering if you took the Cambridge curriculum when you were at school.

  • Hi it's me again. Have you made any more of these? It's cool if you didn't I know how busy you'll be but it would be really helpful if you did. Just reply as soon as you can.

  • @LOLatvid123

Hello! Nice to hear from you again. What would you like me to talk about? =)) I am a bit busy but I'll give it a go.

  • do you have to be good at math? to be a med student

  • @supermia1122

No you don't =) But it would be good to do well so you can get a high mark which will go towards your year 12 exam final score.

  • This is really good.

  • kpop - listen to f(x) - danger, or G-dragon - heartbreaker!

  • Thank god!!! :)

  • and tooth envy, how much highschool chem do you end up using in med school? Is it more biology or chemistry?

  • @LOLatvid123

honestly, biology is more useful in medical school, but certain med schools have prerequisites for both. The only chemistry we do is during metabolism where we have to remember structures of certain molecules - but that's only basic. We don't use chem at all. I've forgotten how to balance equations and figure out how many mols are in this fluid of x concentration. =/ You don't end up using it!

  • Respond to this video... I did chemistry in year 11, 12 and first year biomed...and sadly, a lot of it is forgotten =( same with physics and mathematics. I had trouble remembering how to do quadratic equations once! In med school it's completely different - there's physiology, pathology, clinical medicine - but we still have to understand the underlying processes at the molecular level...so get ready to learn about intracellular signalling pathways!!!

  • Hi I'm looking to join a med school soon and I was wondering whether you could make more like them. Only, it would be cool if you could make one for people like me so we can know what to do or expect when we do undergrad etc. You know coming in from high school. Great vid by the way. You don't need to be so self conscious you barely ever repeated anything and the vid was actually fun to watch. I'm a kiwi so it would be cool if you could elaborate on stuff like going to Australia to study too. T

  • @LOLatvid123

Hi Latvid! I'll try my best to do so this weekend. haha I'll conjure up some confidence to do more to help you guys out =)

  • Wow! You're really creative!

And about the Cola thing, I'd suggest to not write any brands. Just make up any brand, it'll be more creative and catchy. But if you don't like the idea then just leave it this way, it's still amazing :)

  • @NooNoo231

Thanks heaps! =) That's a great idea, but I think I wrote V and cola because lots of people in my cohort can relate with it. Since they're all med students...hopefully they'll find the cover interesting and pick up the magazine to read!...I seriously need to get a better camera!!!

  • @ToothEnvy

Oh, i see what you mean haha.

Good luck with the cover and i hope everyone likes it.

share it with us when it's out ;)

  • For everyone who has epilepsy, there's just a small amount of people who do have seizures triggered by what they see (flashing lights or colors). And there are people who have not had any history of seizures and have not been diagnosed with epilepsy, yet. So instead of saying anything like "Do not watch if you have epilepsy", just say, "Caution, this video may cause seizures". By saying this instead, more people will be interested and encouraged to watch your videos.

  • @EpilepsySupportGroup

Thanks for the advice, I'll change what I wrote. :)
