1st off in my opinion 50 cal hurts more, but thats whatever. The 50 cal is a cool idea, but its going to be hard in tournaments. The shot size is NOT the same as the .68 cal, which makes it easier to wipe. Also your going to have to buy conversion kits for everything! Loader, gun, pods, and masks that can withstand the hits of a 50 cal. Unless I'm getting this stuff for free i dont plan on using it
only problem i have with this is they NEED to put 4000 in a box not 2000 with cutting the paintball pretty much to half the size youd hope they give you more but nope and my field will charge an extreme amount for it waste needs to 4000 a case

Why would you need 500 in a hopper? My gear is already air efficent. Its gonna be the same price as paint now. The paint I use is accurate. If you call shooting a paintball marker kick, grow some arms. For this to happen, its going to cost us even more money. Its a dumb idea. The industry tried it once and it failed. No need for a repeat.
500 in a hopper = less reloading overtime. Wouldn't it be nice to constantly be in a gun fight without having to worry about reloading, more fun for you and spectators.

Recreation paint will be even cheaper. .50 cal would be perfect to take out in the woods because you can get an even more MILSIM thing going on with it with smaller tanks. If they made the fill denser to make it heavier and made them more brittle I would easily invest in .50 cal.

well to begin with, manufacturing costs go down because it takes less money to make .50 cal than .83 cal. another advantage is in a hopper, you get more balls thus allowing you last longer in a game, the weight is lighter on a .50 cal, so it could lead to more air efficiency as well

guys think about how good .50 cal paintballs are going to be, they are going to travel the same distance as a .68 cal paintball, also instead of 2000 rounds in a box it will be 4000 rounds in a box, and 480 balls can fit in a hopper and 370 in a pod
let me also say, that a smaller mass requires less force to overcome inertia and static friction. (a fancy way of saying you can use a smaller volume of air to fire your paint at 300 FPS..... More shots per fill!)
that is true however you have to shoot the ball faster to get it to go as far as a normal sized ball thus using more air... so if your using more air to make it go further then how much air are you really saving?
because the initial velocity as it leaves the barrel is 300 FPS it will go EXACTLY THE SAME DISTANCE!

Well tippmann made a gun a few years ago that shot these balls. it wasnt a pistol but a normal sized pb gun. It shot at 325 fps becuase that balls didnt go as far as the .68 balls did at 300. Now if for some reason you see that this wont happen in guns now with these balls then you can prove it to me. because if it happened before what is goin to make it work now??????
that's news to me; the only other bore of paint that I've heard of are the .43 cals that RAP4 uses (and those are MORE accurate than our .68s) if that's true than the only variable that could effect the distance of the shot would be the surface of the paintball. IE it would be like comparing wall-mart paint to marbs. a rough or distorted surface would most definitely effect shot pattern as well as distance of the shot.

I saw this at cup, how gay. The barrel is really tiny, and the paint looks like BB's. Let me put up a great Example. I own the BEST DVD collection in the world. All of a sudden BluRay takes over, and now more New dvd's are made. In other words im fucked. Those .50 cal balls dont even look like they hurt, so if I get hit would I tell? Bad idea. This wont sell much.I understand guns are at their top now, but there are far more things to create. Why dont you just start working on a hopper eclipse?
I hate the .50 caliber. I'm not buying a kit or another gun for this. .68 is doing just fine. People already wipe the paint and cheat. This just makes it easier for cheaters.
If this is something that takes off and it proves to be more efficient after a few years i think the market could move to just .50 cal but it looks like this is all just a big market test to see how the consumers respond to this. My advice to players of the sport to do your own research before buying into new products because your stuck with what you get and in the end we are the ones shoveling out the $ to play. Be fugal.

there will never be a COMPLETE conversion to .50 cal .68 cal will always be around. due to "joe schmo" who plays once or twice a year with his tippman, which is a mast majority of paintball players. if he went into a paintball shop to get paintballs and they sad sorry your gun is obsolete you need to buy a new one, he's just gonna leave.

because its a new revolution, all the 2010 guns are the exact same as 2009. a lot of company's are at there peek of technology. this is the next generation of paintball. all positives and no negatives. as long as all company's come with a converter kit. which i think they will
This is all negative actually. There is no governing body in paintball, just a bunch of companies trying to make money. This conversion will eliminate the option for players to use older model markers. 05 and 06 egos will be obsolete and any other marker that does not have a conversion option will be obsolete as well. Players will be forced to buy the new expensive stuff. There also isn't a guarantee that paint prices will be cheaper to players. Maybe for companies but not for players.
i talked to the guy at cup today that owns the 50 cal paint company and he says a case of 50 cal paint is 30% cheaper than 68 cal so if u pay full price for a case of paint which is like 50 bucks it would be 35 dollars for a case. or if ur a tourney player whos sponsored u get a case of 50 cal for 30% cheaper

guys think about how good .50 cal paintballs are going to be, they are going to travel the same distance as a .68 cal paintball, also instead of 2000 rounds in a box it will be 4000 rounds in a box, and 480 balls can fit in a hopper and 370 in a pod

let me also say, that a smaller mass requires less force to overcome inertia and static friction. (a fancy way of saying you can use a smaller volume of air to fire your paint at 300 FPS..... More shots per fill!)

that is true however you have to shoot the ball faster to get it to go as far as a normal sized ball thus using more air... so if your using more air to make it go further then how much air are you really saving?

because the initial velocity as it leaves the barrel is 300 FPS it will go EXACTLY THE SAME DISTANCE!
X=ViT + 1/2AT^2
kinetic air resistance is a constant so the 1/2AT^2 part is the same for either equation. So really, how far you shoot (X) is determined by the initial velocity (Vi) times Time (T)
The only variable that differs in your shot will be how much effect wind has on the shot. BUT ONCE AGAIN air resistance is a constant; you'll have the same shot pattern at the same velocity =D

Well tippmann made a gun a few years ago that shot these balls. it wasnt a pistol but a normal sized pb gun. It shot at 325 fps becuase that balls didnt go as far as the .68 balls did at 300. Now if for some reason you see that this wont happen in guns now with these balls then you can prove it to me. because if it happened before what is goin to make it work now??????

that's news to me; the only other bore of paint that I've heard of are the .43 cals that RAP4 uses (and those are MORE accurate than our .68s) if that's true than the only variable that could effect the distance of the shot would be the surface of the paintball. IE it would be like comparing wall-mart paint to marbs. a rough or distorted surface would most definitely effect shot pattern as well as distance of the shot.

a box of 2000 ultra-evil rounds is around $65 where I live.
let's assume it's an ideal world; IE it IS 30% less to make these "special" 50 cal paintballs
.70 (30% less cost) x $65 = $45.5
let's say the kit is $100
65-45.5=$19.5 savings per case
100/19.5 = 5.12..... rounding up (because who buys 500 paintballs?!) 6
So after 6 cases (which is about 2 months for me) the kit AND paintballs pay for themselves.
I'll go 50 cal.

A new company has entered paintball-G.I. MILSIM. It is created by Richmond Italia [founder procaps/Draxxus] and the Garner bros. [founder Smart Parts.] They have released paint & markers on a .50 caliber flatform. Standard p8nt is .68 caliber. Proponents believe it will lower costs across the board by as much as 30%. All current p8nt guns can only be used with .68 caliber p8nt. Eclipse is simply making sure U can use your Ego whatever p8nt u have, without having to buy an entire new gun.-ETV Dan

Jack mentions in the piece what models it works with, give it another view. I believe it works all the way down to Ego6 or 7-but don't quote me. Watch it again, and see what Jack says.
I am unsure about the price point. But I will try to find out, and post the info. I don't think it is suppose to be terribly expensive though.

I saw this at cup, how gay. The barrel is really tiny, and the paint looks like BB's. Let me put up a great Example. I own the BEST DVD collection in the world. All of a sudden BluRay takes over, and now more New dvd's are made. In other words im fucked. Those .50 cal balls dont even look like they hurt, so if I get hit would I tell? Bad idea. This wont sell much.I understand guns are at their top now, but there are far more things to create. Why dont you just start working on a hopper eclipse?

I hate the .50 caliber. I'm not buying a kit or another gun for this. .68 is doing just fine. People already wipe the paint and cheat. This just makes it easier for cheaters.

If this is something that takes off and it proves to be more efficient after a few years i think the market could move to just .50 cal but it looks like this is all just a big market test to see how the consumers respond to this. My advice to players of the sport to do your own research before buying into new products because your stuck with what you get and in the end we are the ones shoveling out the $ to play. Be fugal.

there will never be a COMPLETE conversion to .50 cal .68 cal will always be around. due to "joe schmo" who plays once or twice a year with his tippman, which is a mast majority of paintball players. if he went into a paintball shop to get paintballs and they sad sorry your gun is obsolete you need to buy a new one, he's just gonna leave.

because its a new revolution, all the 2010 guns are the exact same as 2009. a lot of company's are at there peek of technology. this is the next generation of paintball. all positives and no negatives. as long as all company's come with a converter kit. which i think they will

This is all negative actually. There is no governing body in paintball, just a bunch of companies trying to make money. This conversion will eliminate the option for players to use older model markers. 05 and 06 egos will be obsolete and any other marker that does not have a conversion option will be obsolete as well. Players will be forced to buy the new expensive stuff. There also isn't a guarantee that paint prices will be cheaper to players. Maybe for companies but not for players.

i talked to the guy at cup today that owns the 50 cal paint company and he says a case of 50 cal paint is 30% cheaper than 68 cal so if u pay full price for a case of paint which is like 50 bucks it would be 35 dollars for a case. or if ur a tourney player whos sponsored u get a case of 50 cal for 30% cheaper
