I'll sample it. it is not an art to sample, chop and release another artist songs. Just soak it in, and add you to what you learn from old school... There are only so many beats you can create, but at least make it your own. Norman Conners did not sample or rip this. He created it...
Yep. Another killer track. But why does everyone keep on insisting that music is no good 'these days' and 'those days' were the good old days and so forth. I mean, are we all not fucking kicking back to this song right now? What the fuck is the difference? All I do is listen to disco and soul and I DJ that stuff too. @lovesbass A masterpiece of mellow soul and jazzy grooves, with the heavenly title cut -- "You Are My Starship" -- which features Michael Henderson on vocals and Gary Bartz on sax! Bartz plays on a number of other cuts, too, including a remake of "The Creator Has a Master Plan", "Just Imagine", and a remake of "Betcha By Golly Wow", with Phyllis Hyman on vocals. Hyman also sings a duet with Michael Henderson on the track "We Both Need Each Other". Great stuff, and a groundbreaking LP.

I haven't heard M.H. since the early 80's. My mom used to jam to him while burning one, under the red light, with the incense going and feeling her groove. She probable thinks that I forgot about those nights but I didn't. I had a few of mine that looked the same way as hers. She just didn't know that me and my friends were doing the same thing and feeling our groove too. Thanks for the post!
Wow! What a flashback! My dad always had a brown box & he would pull it out & I would always wonder "why does daddy cut the grass & put it in that box & smoke it-UGH!" LOL! It wasn't until I got older that I realized what he was really doing...LOL! Anyway thanks sexybiscuit 4 taking me back in time! :-)

yeah, this was one of my jams to get it with. I would push it through Quadraphonic Stereo when most brothers were trying to understand stereo! lol A dark room, candles or street lights shining in on sheer drapes, a "play pen" to lounge on while listening. The best of alcohol and best of colognes in a smoking jacket and velvet slippers. My Starship playing in the background through all 4 speakers. That was the mood setter!
