If the structure and tenants of the religion are so weak and bad that it must use the fear of eternal hell or just hell because the religion's creator/s fear believers will leave their religion, than the religion isn't a very good religion. The point is that it was the norm back in those times that women were married off after puberty, not just in the bible, but in most cultures. We never came to this world out of nothing of by chance. We are all created and for one purpose, to worship God and do what he asked us to do. We have limited brains? Yes. But they are enough for us to judge the good from the bad, and to either choose the right path or go astray
The light I referred to is the revelations which came to the prophets, the Torah, the Bible and the Quran. All these books represent the light that was sent to Humanity to save them from hellfire and guide them to paradise. All we need is to follow the lights.
Our minds are limited because we can't see God, we can't see angels or demons, we can't sense them, we only know what is enough for us to identify that they exist.
Having a limited brain doesn't mean we can't know if God exists or not. In fact, even an illiterate man can know that God exists. I will tell you a story of an Arabian illiterate guy who looked at the footsteps in the desert and said if these footsteps tell that people were in this place, then the sky and stars, the earth and all the places on it reveal that there is a creator behind all this.
They are decent in front of your eyes and in front of our eyes, but in the eyes of the creator? God judges them by their belief, some worship his creation (Jesus), and others are polytheists. Some worship Buddha and some are agnostics and the rest are atheists who don't believe in a God. God won't judge things the same way we do, you may like a woman who may work as a stripper or something, in your eyes, she is lovely, good looking, nice, not harming anyone, but she is a sinner in God's terms.
Well if you are smart enough to realize that skin is the source of pain and agony because of the presence of sensory nerves. Then how come prophet Mohamed (PBUH) knew that 1400 years ago while he was illiterate? If you are smart enough, you will realize that Quran is word of God and you have to believe in it.
Again, God created us only to worship him and follow his guidance, God sent us Quran and people would say no thanks, its a lie but we are good people. Then they can only blame themselves.

What I am saying is that science proved that sensory nerves are the source of pain and they are located at the skin. In Quran, this scientific fact was mentioned 1400 years ago. @KingRodriques; We as Muslims believe in the unseen. People like to argue about anything, when they saw Moses making a road for Jews within the sea, they would still not believe. If God opened a gate for in heaven to which people can climb up to heaven some of them will say its only an illusion. People with faith believe in the presence of God because its clear for them. People who like to argue about everything can deny the presence of God even if He was visible to them.

We will start seeing things pout of this world at this time but it will be too late for the sinner or blasphemer to repent. God asked us to believe before we see these things at death. If the structure and tenants of the religion are so weak and bad that it must use the fear of eternal hell or just hell because the religion's creator/s fear believers will leave their religion, than the religion isn't a very good religion. It clearly hasn't done a good job in convincing people to follow itself. And yes the Abrahamic religions have a serious of reasons why you would go to hell, but the one that never made sense is if you leave that Abrahamic religion you will go to hell. WEAK.

I noticed some muslims on this form say all religions believe their religion is the only way or you will go to hell. Well that statement couldn't be more wrong. Actually Sikhi, Hinduism, and Buddhism do not require you to follow their religion to be liberated. And Sikhi, Hinduism, and Buddhism don't believe you will go to hell if you don't follow them. Even if all religions believed you will go to hell if you don't follow them, it still doesn't make it right. It's still a cruel and evil idea.

The point is that it was the norm back in those times that women were married off after puberty, not just in the bible, but in most cultures. The whole issue was did Muhammad marry a girl wrongfully or was that the marrying age historically in those times, and the answer is that it was not wrong, it was historically the age in which females got married, and the age of the man is irrelevant as long as the female met the requirements of those times (puberty).

AAS I have already stated California just recently got rid of the law that allowed marriage at age 10yrs old.

He's not talking about a newfound religion. To my knowledge he isn't a Christian or anything else. Personally I believe that religions are open game for intrepretation and criticism. Just like how atheism or agnosticism is open game for criticism. Why can the Quran talk about non-believers and non-muslims burning forever in the fire, and other books from other religions which say the same thing be ok? While this is considered disrespectful? Whatever excuse you feel is based on this reasoning, the point is that the FACT that Muslim men could marry Christian and Jewish women clearly highlights the false statement made my "discussislam" and many many others that Jews and Christians go to hell. A Christian and Jew could still keep her faith in peace if married to a Muslim and God would not guide a Muslim to marry anybody "unclean" so a Jew or Christian that is pious is not unclean and is not destined to hell, which supports the Quran.

There is nothing in the Quran itself that says only the Jews and Christians of the past shall be saved. It doesn't matter how many imams, scholars or so called proffessors mention this, there is no evidence for such a claim. The prophet recieved revelations based on the Jews and Christians of his time as well. He recieved revelation mentioning many favourable quotes on Christians after he had spoken to them. The light I referred to is the revelations which came to the prophets, the Torah, the Bible and the Quran. All these books represent the light that was sent to Humanity to save them from hellfire and guide them to paradise. All we need is to follow the lights.
Our minds are limited because we can't see God, we can't see angels or demons, we can't sense them, we only know what is enough for us to identify that they exist.

They are decent in front of your eyes and in front of our eyes, but in the eyes of the creator? God judges them by their belief, some worship his creation (Jesus), and others are polytheists. Some worship Buddha and some are agnostics and the rest are atheists who don't believe in a God. If God opened a gate for in heaven to which people can climb up to heaven some of them will say its only an illusion. People with faith believe in the presence of God because its clear for them. People who like to argue about everything can deny the presence of God even if He was visible to them.

We will start seeing things pout of this world at this time but it will be too late for the sinner or blasphemer to repent. God asked us to believe before we see these things at death. A believer will be rewarded and will enter Paradise (God Willing) and a disbeliever will go to Hell. You can think over and over and see if its worth it to believe or not and thats my point of view:)

1 - In Judaism there is no torture in hell forever. Eternal punishment means: the disappearance of her soul entity.
2 - Judaism does not mean that all nations will go to hell:))) Absolutely not. Opposite! Judaism says that every person and honest nation - he has a paradise.

I dont understand why you make the points you do.
You initially define good as including those that reject God something that most religions would disagree with.
You then ask why does God punish those that reject Him? Isnt it obvious? You seem to want choice without consequence in the next life?
If you dont believe in the next life then where is the issue?
You then say that Hell is bad so God is bad, but ignore that many religions believe in Hell when you pose your final question...

Amongst those people that you claim I believe will go to hell (Christians, Americans, Westerners - assuming that Muslims are not Westerners) because they are non-Muslim are many that believe that I will go to hell because I am a non-Christian/Jew etc etc.
Most religions are mutually exclusive, belief is a basic requirement of these.
When Muslims hold views that others also hold in counter, why do you condemn Muslims for their view?

Dear thefotfoundation - The argument you are using is called Tu Quoque. It is the fallacy that flaws in one religion can be justified by pointing to flaws in another.

Naming an argument doesnt constitute a response and doesnt invalidate the point I made.
Most religions are mutually exclusive and consider that some non-believers (and some believers as well actually) will be punished in the next life. That you consider that a flaw, is a flaw.
You havent addressed the point that your definition of good is also flawed and which happens to be the basis of your "reservations".
If these are issues then they are so virtually in all religions, even Western ones.

Youtube's strength is obviously in presenting videos. Comments are available - but they are not good for in depth discussion. Again - that is pretty obvious.
Discussion forums are the place for in-depth discussions.

That is the exact reason that my sister and I started having doubts about our religion. The fact that any person who wasn't muslim was going to hell for all of eternity. This makes no sense to me, how could God be merciful if he is going to torture that many people? Let alone all the muslims he is going to torture for not being perfect muslims.

I am an american. I support you by the way, and think that it is awesome that you are defending freedom from religion, And if one chooses, freedom from islam. But I bring one point. In the same facet, that not all muslims are extremists, or violent, in fact, most of them are very kind. Not all right wing people are christian, or, extreme. The word right wing gets diluted, but it has plenty of meaning. If someone believes in free market per say, they are considered right wing. Anyhow, cheers!

They well go to hell if they received the massage of Islam and do not believe on it. They go to hell for eternity because, they did not believe on the creator. God give us a very graphic picture of the hell to lit us now what is a witting for them so they do not say that we did not now about the severity of hell.
