Question if i have a router that doesn't have a modem built in, do i connect that to the modem with an ethernet cable as well

@d1jal yes, on your router there should be a spot that says "Internet" You plug the ethernet cable from DSL modem then to wireless router.. set your wireless router up and now you are ready to surf the web, wireless!

First you have connected the filter for the phone, and then you remove it and connected the modem to that jack. What does it mean? And if I have only one jack then what will I do?

I have the AT&T one with the service...I kind of miss the old wire in the wall jack. It never gave me problems...But now all different speeds you need the wireless modems...It is still over priced service..So many people out of work and none of these company's like AT&T cut rates...A friend of mine lost his job and could not afford the 66 plus per month anymore...Which is way to high...These company's have us by the balls.....

THANKS THIS HELPED ME ALOT sry for caps but um i bout a comcast modem and a apple wireless router so insted of hookinthe ethernet cord straight to ur laptop i hooked it up to my wireless adapter which then provided 4 other ethernet outlets which i can plug other ethernets in

No you do not. I have AT&T DSL Direct and I have no phone service. I use their DSL and its awesome.
