  • Thank god it was a amtrack

  • What is up with the 30 dislikes? Why do people go on youtube. watch a video they know they wont like, and hit dislike? Do people not have anything better to do? Nice catch btw

  • Amtrak WOULD be the one to cut this dude off :)

  • Firetruck driver's probably thinking "HA! I got a horn LOUDER than yours, Amtrak!!"

  • @ultragor no he was probably thinking "shit i cant get to the fire on time" but i guess there would of been other fire trucks on route to the fire so ...

  • Looked like a Lincoln Service train. Where was this taken?

  • @fafnir242 it was a wolverine service train, 355

  • @AmtrakBoys So probably the same set that came off of a Lincoln Service. Those sets tend to interchange a lot.

  • Sometime back I saw a video of a passenger local that set off the lights ( no gates ) as it was leaving a station, and a fire truck arrived at the same time. The train held back as a crewman waved the truck across the tracks. That probably saved the fire crew about a precious 20 seconds! That kind of curtesy depends on if a train is slow enough to allow that.

  • Don't see that every day.

  • Good job keep it safe.

  • When im about to die and need help I bet this would happen when they are coming to my home... and its going be one of them longggggggg a** trains. :P

  • @LoveReflectiveTape thats usually how it works when ever we need to get some place like a medical call theres always something holding us back o well lol

  • Why did you stop the video when the firetruck put the sirens and lights on?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @Emtfirefighter4life1 just wasn't thinking about it, kind of stopped by force of habit

  • @AmtrakBoys ok sorry

  • @Emtfirefighter4life1 hey no problem

  • @AmtrakBoys one of the firefighters saw me waving at them and honked the air horn on rescue engine 5

  • 'Good thing it was a short train...

  • i hate amtrak ugly engines plus way to many issues with amtrak and safety

  • awh come on. he could have made it across before the train

  • Turn emergency lights OFF.

After train has passed on SINGLE track, LOOK, go around gate.

Why siren if no one was there?

  • @robertgift You use the siren while you're running code, not when it's convenient for other motorists.

  • @Shirehorse148 No. I never sound the siren unless someone needs to be alerted to the approach of the emergency vehicle. The noise pollution annoys others who do not need to hear it, such as those in their homes and businesses.

At night I have made entire runs without sounding the siren even once.

The fire truck should have turned off all emergency lights.

  • @robertgift I'm not going to be held liable for someone's death because I didn't want to pass out noise pollution. I'm glad that you have an nonrestrictive policy.

  • @Shirehorse148 You don't allow a collision, regardless if siren is sounding or not.

Never count on the siren being heard, anyway. Newer sound-proofed vehicles with excellent stereos often block/mask siren so it is not heard early enough. So I drive as though it is not sounding - which most often it is not.

It's merely an additional tool which MAY be useful.

  • nice short horn battle there. i love horn battles.

  • Firetruck was like bitch, I got the last honk!

  • wow ! nice catch! a double header! fire truck honk @ train

  • Wow this fire truck has a Detroit Diesel 6V92 turbo engine!

  • @brianalexi sounds like it. i thought it was a cummins at first though. but i loved the small horn battle they had though.

  • why would that small train need 2 engines lol

  • Simply so they can switch ends to drive without the hassle of turning the engine around. It doesn't need them for any other reason.

  • @alexander1485 Reverse trip.

  • Nice catch!

Glad the fireturck did not try to go around the gate.

Too many firetrucks have been hit by trains.

Nice thathey both blasted horns to each other.

Concerned thathe locomotivengineer may have thought it a signal to slow and stop, I would have turned the emergency lights off.

Doubt locomotivengineer applied throttle to let the firetruck continue sooner. But maybe so.

  • Thanks!

  • @robertgift Yeah it is soo sad! Espesially they are the ones going to that type of accident with CARS!

  • @robertgift chances are if the train attempted to stop it would block the crossing completely

  • @tomek9x amtrak would be going too fast. they can stop quickly, but not that fast

  • Yeah, the Loco Engineer kicked it into overdrive to get out of the way faster. Watch the smoke plume start right before it passes by the truck.

  • The odds of catching this were pretty slim! Good job! Passing it along to my firefighting family members. 5*****!!

  • Engineer horn talk! I love this video! 2 Engineers exchanging horns to each other. Amazing catch!

The train Engineer Acknowledged seeing the Firetruck by notching up to 8, & then after the X-ing horn sequence, then they honked as an "OK, I see you, & I'm expediting" , & then the Firetruck Engineer honked back as to say, "Thank you, much appreciated!!"

  • that was a passenger train too wow pretty fast for one of them

  • Which is sad that it is considered fast.. US passenger trains just move way to slow on average for anyone to care to use them.

  • He didn't blow his horn at you, he blew it at the train!

    Pre-mondanna!

  • The pumper was telling the train to get the hell outta here!!

  • No there required by law to stop. usualy in a big city the F.D. dispatch would re-route the engine co. but in small rural comunitys, there stuck.

  • You got lucky to see a doubleheaded amtrak and a fire truck waiting with lights on Awesome.

  • I notice the train speed up.

  • by law they are required to stop???????? id bloody stop in the intrest of keeping my own life lol i dont think the law has anything to do with it.

  • Think he was honking at the train, chief...

  • by law they are required to stop.

  • lol if they just so happened to get stuck on the tracks... ouch
