What is up with the 30 dislikes? Why do people go on youtube. watch a video they know they wont like, and hit dislike? Do people not have anything better to do? Nice catch btw
@ultragor no he was probably thinking "shit i cant get to the fire on time" but i guess there would of been other fire trucks on route to the fire so ...
Sometime back I saw a video of a passenger local that set off the lights ( no gates ) as it was leaving a station, and a fire truck arrived at the same time. The train held back as a crewman waved the truck across the tracks. That probably saved the fire crew about a precious 20 seconds! That kind of curtesy depends on if a train is slow enough to allow that.
@LoveReflectiveTape thats usually how it works when ever we need to get some place like a medical call theres always something holding us back o well lol
@Shirehorse148 No. I never sound the siren unless someone needs to be alerted to the approach of the emergency vehicle. The noise pollution annoys others who do not need to hear it, such as those in their homes and businesses.
At night I have made entire runs without sounding the siren even once.
The fire truck should have turned off all emergency lights.
@robertgift I'm not going to be held liable for someone's death because I didn't want to pass out noise pollution. I'm glad that you have an nonrestrictive policy.
@Shirehorse148 You don't allow a collision, regardless if siren is sounding or not.
Never count on the siren being heard, anyway. Newer sound-proofed vehicles with excellent stereos often block/mask siren so it is not heard early enough. So I drive as though it is not sounding - which most often it is not.
It's merely an additional tool which MAY be useful.
Engineer horn talk! I love this video! 2 Engineers exchanging horns to each other. Amazing catch!
The train Engineer Acknowledged seeing the Firetruck by notching up to 8, & then after the X-ing horn sequence, then they honked as an "OK, I see you, & I'm expediting" , & then the Firetruck Engineer honked back as to say, "Thank you, much appreciated!!"
Thank god it was a amtrack

Looked like a Lincoln Service train. Where was this taken?
fafnir242 4 months ago
@fafnir242 it was a wolverine service train, 355
AmtrakBoys 4 months ago
@AmtrakBoys So probably the same set that came off of a Lincoln Service. Those sets tend to interchange a lot.

Turn emergency lights OFF.
After train has passed on SINGLE track, LOOK, go around gate.
Why siren if no one was there?
robertgift 1 year ago
@robertgift You use the siren while you're running code, not when it's convenient for other motorists.

CumminsCrazedredneck 1 year ago
why would that small train need 2 engines lol
alexander1485 2 years ago
Simply so they can switch ends to drive without the hassle of turning the engine around. It doesn't need them for any other reason.

Nice catch!
Glad the fireturck did not try to go around the gate.
Too many firetrucks have been hit by trains.
Nice thathey both blasted horns to each other.
Concerned thathe locomotivengineer may have thought it a signal to slow and stop, I would have turned the emergency lights off.
Doubt locomotivengineer applied throttle to let the firetruck continue sooner. But maybe so.

@tomek9x amtrak would be going too fast. they can stop quickly, but not that fast

Yeah, the Loco Engineer kicked it into overdrive to get out of the way faster. Watch the smoke plume start right before it passes by the truck.

that was a passenger train too wow pretty fast for one of them
77RAMBLERkid 2 years ago
Which is sad that it is considered fast.. US passenger trains just move way to slow on average for anyone to care to use them.

No there required by law to stop. usualy in a big city the F.D. dispatch would re-route the engine co. but in small rural comunitys, there stuck.
