By the way, this is great topic. I was looking for "gem duplication" in 'Chapter 0' and ended here. I'm trying right now. Many thanks and happy new 2012. ²¦¬)
Dude You are awesome man! You just made like a messiah gem or something lol! Thanks for showing me how to play Gemcraft Chapter 0. The way I am so impressed with this video is because it's not hacking, it's pure technique and skill. Unlike the rest of the hacked gemcraft videos, those are boring, anyone can download a tool. Awesome video and Awesome skills! You are a Gemcraft master!
This tactic is incredible stupid. I guess this is indeed the fastest way to max out the attack rate of the gem, however by far not the most efficient way... Try bouncing gems/armor drain combo... lvl 8 gem has same attack speed.. Always. And they are stronger (28% bounce, 51% Armor drain). It will safe you some mana to get them togheter....
As i recall, this was amazing...when it was made.
now, of course, it is known that a supergemmed R/O trap works better than a tower.
...once you have a partial, strong R/O mana farm in place, THEN make grade 11 R/O/Y gems for maximum mana gain rate-triple gems have the most special/gem. Use duals and prismatics for damage, though.
...this is in reply to multiple previous comments.
tell us how to throw gem bombs so fast on incoming waves. You have got focus on gems and you are simply clicking. I dont know how to use this focus, so i have to move all gems manualy.
max ur mana(orange)/splash(red)/trap skills and about halfway slow(blue) -- grade 7 splash/mana gems yield the following max number of monsters hit 6 -- 5.5 * (whatever your mana pool multiplier is) mana per hit -- same grade 7 blue/red in a trap hits 6 and slows like93% for 7.1 seconds ... do one blue/red then 3-4 red/orange and repeat through whole path -- **do this on the endurance levels that have a X 3 multiplier and let it run all night unattended** -- 50-60k easy when you finally die
The problem with doing three colors is that you don't get a stat bonus and your specials are cut to 70% or 60% power. If you use Dual Gem Mastery, you can increase your power by up to 60% - 40% for Pure Gem Mastery.
u should have put it in a trap and let it rape the hell out of the monster untill the arcan guards. i would like to see the firing speed of it in a trap! :D
amazing dude i keep using these supergems in endurance games and they own. ive made a lvl 15 prismatic gem { right now im playing } with 16614 - 71099 damage 216 range 279 firing speed +376 poison 26% of triple dmg splash radius 3.6 slows 55% for 24.2 seconds 18% chain hit 2.3* 6.5 mana gain 18% to reduce armor by 1 and 5% shock chance totally amazing :D
i did his strategy and in one level i went from level 55 to lvl 61 and that lvl was the last time i played oh and the gem was 13880 speed 225 and range 180
This strategy does not work at all in V1.15. The amount of effort required is high, and the max firing speed attained is 220~, which is less than the 279 that you can attain with a level 9 gem, and that is virtually guaranteed WITHOUT supergemming in a level 10/11 gem.
It's been nerfed a bit, but 220 is still plenty fast. I agree that they're tedious to make, but you can get one a lot sooner than you can get a level 9 gem, and it'll be working for you the whole while you're building it!
Imagine if the next Gemcraft game has a wider range of different gems and effects, these are the colours and effects of gems I would like to see; - Black: instant kill - Pink: confuse - White: warp to start - Brown: damage boost - Grey: effect boost - Teal: attack multiple monsters - Lilac: extra shots - Crimson: beserk - Indigo: firing speed boost - Apricot: range boost
As long as the player can easily tell the difference between the colors, I'm game. Not sure about anyone else, but it was really difficult for me to tell the difference between lime and green gems in GC0. Even lime vs. yellow could sometimes be problematic.
I think in order to accommodate those gem ideas and colours, the game should also show saturation (0 or 1 = white; max = colour) and brightness (0 or 1 = black; max = colour), as well as hue; saturation and brightness should also apply to monsters for damage calculation. Who knows, the addition of saturation and brightness could help people like you see which gems are yellow, lime or green.
i started doing this strategy wen i was in lvl 40 and now im in lvl 62 and all i hav to finish is the last lvl.i tried this to other gems and it actually worked
Yeah, I think pretty much anything mixed with red will be great. For instance, red+yellow are supposed to be really good for doing damage (even in traps).
Level 20 is too early, especially in v1.15. Super-gemming isn't really viable until after you max out Focus, Forge, Replenish, Mana Gain Mastery, Splash Mastery, and Dual Gem Mastery. Before that, your super-gem will be too weak to get you through the first few waves.
Before you can build super-gems, just build lots of towers and use transmute to stock them with grade 3 orange gems. The extra mana from the orange gems will let you build more firepower, faster.
man that's pretty sick, and i mean that in a good way. This vid helped me out a lot with getting a nice endurance score on an level 12, i just transmuted everything into red or orange gems, my super gems weren't as powerful though,i got their fireing speeds up but then i didn't continue to boost their damage, if i had i probally could have gone a few more rounds
I happen to create a grade 8 dual blue-lime gem that has the following stats;
Damage: 264-697
Range: 128
Firing Speed: 222
Slows by 55% for 5.2 secs
28% of chain hit
This is made possible with maxed skills in Recharge, Resonance and Turbulence, along with Replenish, Forge, Dual Gem Mastery and Focus, with any left over skill points put into Armor.
According to the ArmorGames website, there is a firing speed limit of 100 for grade 5 gems or lower that are created by combining high and low-grade gems, 120 for grade 6 gems, 140 for grade 7 gems, and a further 20 for each grade above. So to make a 'supergem' with an extremely high firing speed, you would now have to create a grade 10 gem or better.
On one occasion however, I actually created a grade 8 dual purple-cyan gem with a firing speed of over 240 - that is on v1.15 with infusing lower level gems into my grade 6 and 7 gems, a maxed out skill in Dual gem mastery and skill level 9 in Recharge, together with maxed out skills in Mana gain mastery, Focus, Replenish and Forge. This is while I am on wizard level 44.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that cyan gems have the fastest natural firing rate, so that sounds plausible. It'd be interesting to see if cyan/orange could bring back a bit of the glory days. :)
Hmm.... Well, with the same skills used in the video, I was able to get a grade-4 red/orange up to a 222 firing rate, which is quite respectable. So, it does, indeed, appear that supergems are back, albeit in a slightly diminished form.
Orange to gain mana and red to splash the mana gain. This lets you build up faster in the beginning and makes you nearly invincible once you get rolling. (Or at least, it did, before v1.1.)
i don't think this works anymore... i just checked and the update said that when u combine high grade gems with low grade gems the firing speed and range doesn't work...but i still have to test it though. by the way great vid!!!
You're right; now, only damage is upgraded. I assume you could still take advantage of that by building several souped-up gems, each to a max damage of 500 or so; you just won't be able to anger every wave like crazy anymore. (At least, not until you can afford to build a high-level gem with a natural 200+ firing speed.)
I also noticed that the pool gain per "mana pool" upgrade is linear, while the cost of that upgrade grows above linear (exponential? dunno), so there is a max pool size which increases with the starting pool size. I can get like 230000 poolsize, but only if I start with maxed pool size skill.
By the way, this is great topic. I was looking for "gem duplication" in 'Chapter 0' and ended here. I'm trying right now. Many thanks and happy new 2012. ²¦¬)

Why do you increase your max mana? It's not like mana pool increase, it does not give bonus xp or mana, so I'd say its a waste of skill points. :)
CiszHelion 2 years ago
It increases the amount of extra mana you get from the mana pool spell. When the skill is maxed out, you get +2000 mana each use instead of +1000.
I've also read that the amount of mana you get per kill depends on the size of your mana pool, although I haven't verified this, myself.
(Also, there wasn't much left to spend skill points on. I seem to remember that was one of the last skills I upgraded.)
phynnboi 2 years ago
You are right. :)
I also noticed that the pool gain per "mana pool" upgrade is linear, while the cost of that upgrade grows above linear (exponential? dunno), so there is a max pool size which increases with the starting pool size. I can get like 230000 poolsize, but only if I start with maxed pool size skill.
And your strategy works like a charm.
