Consider this: the Dalits in India are very much like the Samaritans were to the Jews. Yet Jesus showed the samaritan woman mercy and kindness in both inquiring about her life and then offering her forgiveness. I don't see that kind of compassion from Hindus in India; I have been there twice and worked in some of the poorest dalit communities in Madras.

I found myself experiencing a raft of emotions including anger, sorrow, lack of hope for mankind and sheer confusion while watching this. Then, I snapped out of it and reaffirmed what I have already known for a long time. With religion, there is no reason, there is no logic, it is a crime against our wonderful mind that has evolved over billions of years and I'm sometimes amazed that it still even exists. All Religions are historic myths that have somehow survived the human enlightenment.

the so called caste system as it is now, is not vedic. 4ex. One is not automatically a bramana by taking birth in a bramana family.Any "so called low caste member" can become a bramana with the right qualifications. The castsystem by which a man who maybe totally unqualified is immidiately a bramana because his parents are, is definitely unvedic. No wonder there are problems,bramanas without qualifications. And a real bramana teaches that EVERYONE is looked after properly without fail.

300 dalit families including 4 priests reconverted to hinduism in tamil nadu in early march. Reason - They were discriminated by the Christians. many dalit christians also recently boycotted the palm sunday celebrations in TN for the same reason - severe discrimination by Church. Go figure.
