"I feel bad that i gotta murder that dude from Leave it to Beaver, I used to like that show now you got me in fight back mode but oh well if you gotta go then you gotta go" 8 MILEEEE
I watched the beave throughout my childhood in the 70s-80s. I didn't realize until my 30s, while watching reruns on Nick at Night, that I'd never seen a black person on this show.
I was so happy that you had at least 60 episodes of leave it to beaver for Season 1 and 2 on Youtube. Is it possible to see them all again. Please have the network informed that there are fans of leave it to beaver that want to see this show again and for a very long time. Thank you.
Thiis not the pilot. The orginal pilot episode was called "It's a Small World" and had a few different cast members. No Tony Dow or Hugh Beaumont. Just thought you might want to know.
@ghostchild88 the cleavers were the except to the rule on the show. if you listen to the kids on the show many have 'hitting' fathers and are much less understanding that the cleavers. larry's dad is only seen one time in the entire series. the rest of the time he is out of town. even at that, ward was not perfect. in the early seasons he lost his tempered and yelled often. he would later say he was sorry. ward often gave bad advice, realized it and later said he was sorry.
I love this show. The pilot had a different brother and parents. A shame the world has changed so much since then.I never get tired of watching these shows.Dennis the Menance too.
I didn't either. The original father seemed evil. You know, like the type that would beat his wife and kids while drinking Whisky or something. Weird I know. No opinion on the first Wally.
@ssjup81 yes, that he is. he acted under the names casey adams and max showalter. i THINK the reason for the name change was his fear of the commie witch hunt/being black listed/it being thought his name sounded 'un-american.' eventually he reverted back to showalter after having used casey adams for a while. IF i recall correctly.

Mathers turned 63 today. I guess we all get old.

Jerry Mathers himself said that only he and Barbara Billingsly were in the pilot.

@bobbollu The guy who played Lumpy's dad was in the pilot as well; so was the woman who played Miss Landers. But they had different roles.

Funny how when this shows up on tv somewhere I just can't change the channel...wish life could really be so beautiful and innocent.

@TSM8088 I am about the same age as Jerry Mathers and I feel the same way. the show was good
without being vulgar or going for cheap jokes. there was a good story and message and a lot of fun along the
way. the real Beaver, Jerry Mathers is as good a guy as you would expect by the part he played.

Actually, I think Barbara Billingsley played the mother in the original pilot. Harry Shearer played the bully.
