yes use recorded clips, as mentioned here, episode 1. or you can have multiple looper devices and mute or fade up / down those tracks in many different ways.
Is there no way to switch between alternate loops? It would be so cool if every time overdubbed, it created a new clip. Or you could assign a footswitch to start clip overdubs. Can you switch between clips via footswitch?

Have a look at Episode 1 - CW shows a looping set up (not with Looper) that might let you do that.
