  • LOVE THIS SONG, and LOVE BRUCE! One thing wrong with this clip, though... It pans the audience a little too much! I know they're havin' a great time, but they CANNOT DANCE!!! Stick with the stage, dammit! LOL!!!

  • this is recorded at spectrum arena, philadelphia, 1984.

and it's the best detroit medley ever.

  • 2 things wrong with this video:

    1.it ends

    2.there's a dislike button

  • Someone needs to tell some of these people they are at a concert.........an amazing concert.

  • love ya big man

  • 3:04 he falls!!!!!!

  • fantastic arrangement and performance; my dislike was that the audience shown too frequently--i wanted more of the Boss!

  • Even thought the CC Rider's orignialy recorded this, I think this is a much better version.

  • Bruce at his PEAK - oh kid what happened to ya', even the best have to exit gracefully to maintain the legend!

  • justin bieber disliked this video 3 times

  • @iceboy207

Who the fuck is justin bieber ??? ; )))

  • @AthenaArtemisia EX FREAKING ACTLY!!!

  • Love the piano solo at 04.59

  • this is 1984 in philadelphia on the first leg of the born in the usa tour

  • From what year?

  • tribute to Mitch Ryder @ The Detroits

  • hes a democrat nader

  • Love the guitar solo at 4:25

  • simply AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • Naderchaser.........he doesn't need your money. Just enjoy the music.........

  • Great player...hate the fact that he stumped for and helped Obama get in office. I'll never spend another dollar his way again.

  • this is NOT from the No Nukes concert in NYC 1979. This is from the Spectrum in Philly, from the Born in the USA tour 1984.....Went every night. 5 shows, then he came back in the Summer '85 for 2 shows at the Vet. Was at those too. Seems like yesterday..........thank you Bruce for all the years of fun. It's been much appreciated.

  • How can some of the people in the audience just stand there and not dance?!?! For God's sake people, live a little! Why do you even go to a concert if you are just going to stand there like it is a freakin' BUS STOP??

  • Actually, I am going to guess they are simply exhausted.

  • I love how he sings this song.

  • i was at this concert that was at the Spectrum in Philadelphia

i remember seeing the signs around the stadium and i think i am on the floor near the back right

    ah memories

  • MEMO TO YOUTUBE: Unfortunately I couldn't rate this clip as the highest possible rating is "Awesome". I would like YouTube to add a 6th star rating and call it "BROOOOOOCE!!!"

  • GOOD OLD FARRAH HAIRDO

  • tHE FIRST TIME I SAW THE BOSS WAS IN 1980. YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER HE WAS YOUNG THEN WE ALL WERE. ITS A HARD POUNDING ON THE BODY TO DO THAT NIGHT AFTER NIGHT

  • Credit where Credit Due Correction To Springsteen's Comments - It's not Springsteen's song it's written by Frederick Long and William Stevenson outta 50's Detroit and then charted when covered by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. Come on Springsteen, you of all people shouldn't be claiming other folks stuff as you own given you past fight for material rights!

  • actually, the beginning of the interview line was cut off. I think what he was talking about doing a song and it really became everyones'. Everything I've ever heard the man say gives at least Mitch Ryder credit.

  • he wasnt son, listening comprehension- go back to elementary school and learn it. why would he even try to take credit for this song? its clearly not his. he even says it b4 his hammersmith show in 75- we played detroit about a month ago, and we learned this song- from one of my favorite detroit artists. or some shit like that

  • Bruce doesn't claim this as his own. Where did you get that impression?

  • Like Mitch said if that's the best he can do I got Him beat hands down. So Said Mitch Ryder and Ted Nugent did agree.

  • HUH?

  • Ted Nugent? That loser was was washed up 30 years ago!!!!!!!

  • Man, I really dig those cool dudes dancing in the isle at 2:47 - 3:05 - haha, totally awesome!

  • Man I miss these days. I started going to his concerts in the late 1970's and this medely always was played as a encore (notice the house lights are on). This was being played about 4 hours into the show, man did he perform and get the crowd to have fun. The Boss is the greatest, but please Bruce, stay out of politics and just "SHUT UP AND SING".

  • Man... dig all those groovy rock n' rollers dancing around in the isles, haha. What a time!

  • great great song(s?) lol

  • Play this at my funeral...and give me room!

  • LOL....Great line!!!

  • OMG YEAH

  • Wow crowds were so different. Hey at least everyone was having a good time.

  • thats a good point. nobody holdin signs up wanting attention. i was at the show in ft. lauderdale may 02. the whole place felt stiff.not like the gardens in 78. the crowd seated an hour late , they were more interested in buying food and drink at the concessions. it is principally a hockey arena. to me the crowd was more like hockey fans. nobody was jamin on the floor.

  • Man, I sure have to agree. A lot of the concerts I have been to are just the same. It takes forever for the show to get started because everyone is buying snacks. It's as if the audience thinks they are goin' to a movie! Then they all just sit their in their seats eating, and looking totally bored. I'm only 18, but I've been to a lot of classic rock concerts- and I still haven't seen even HALF the enthusiasm that I see in this video. It's kind of a shame. Why do people even go to concerts, hey?

  • We had some fun in our day, no?

And subsequent fun on nights like this one probably led to more than a few of our successors getting here themselves. :-)

  • All I can see is a devil with blue jeans on ..WOOHOOOO

  • the dudes hoppin and boppin in the middle isle are way cool

specially that guy jumping around in the american flag suit

    that's cool

  • This is an excerpt from BBC Whistle Test Special first broadcast in Dec 1984...in the run up to the BITUSA tour hitting England.

Is an hour long special memorable for one fan who, in trying to explan Springsteens' appeal said with a shrug "you just got to go see him" - exactly !

  • This version of the song is from Philadelphia Spectrum in 1984.

  • lol people barefoot stepping on shitty floor

  • But it´s the song is officially released in the "No nukes" album. Obviously not this 1984 version...

  • they are just telling you which album you could get the song off of at the time

the performance is from the born in the usa days

  • ROCK´N ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is amazing!!!

  • this is not no nukes
