It's easy to make those dumbells...go to a steel shop, get either a 1" or 2" (diameter-depending on the size of the hole of your 10 lb plates) steel pipe, DOM (a certain type of steel pipe) and cut it to the length you need...add your plates (in Kroc's case...30!!)...and use some Vise Grips as clamps....shouldn't cost more than a few bucks for the steel and the Vise Grips...

No, when you warm up you're using light weight to get more blood flowing and muscles stretching, do some push ups, push presses, over the head hammers and stretch as well, then move into your heavy lifting.

its called a kroc row. hes matt "kroc". youre not supposed to use "perfect form" with it. its heavy ass weight for high reps. he usually does over 15 reps with heavy weight. its intended to raise his deadlift, so i dont know what the every day life thing is for since hes a world class powerlifter and holds a world record for the 220lb weight class. repercussions when hes older? yeah because heavy rows are so damaging. he can say he rowed 300lbs and held a world record for PL'ing when hes older
