@mickeynorson The derringers are very loud. Louder than a rifle in the same caliber by far. Anything with a short barrel is very very loud. I have this same gun but chambered in .22 magnum and it's louder than my 12 gage shotgun.

These guns are inexpensive so if you are going to carry them You can easily find a big bore derringer under $200 on gunbroker or somewhere else

If I was one of those guys that was at work when an ex employee came in with a gun and started killing everyone, I'd be happy to have one of these guns in my pocket. Most places won't allow you to carry your glock into work but you could pt this in your pocket and the only way anyone would ever know you had it would be if you had to use it to protect yourself from a nut that's murdering everyone.

I hesitate to trust my life to a .22 of any barrel length. If it gives you a feeling of safety, well, just be prepared to use it. I don't think these were meant for a lot of shooting, looks like they will shoot loose in time.

Weapon is a loaded word(no pun intended... actually that was a good one, I'll claim it) I interchange the word firearm and weapon because although I don't go around using my weapons on people, that does not change the fact that I keep it for it's designed purpose. Most firearms are tools designed with their most basic function being to enable the user to kill more effectively. I've got the Cobra .38 Special derringer. Just drop it in your pocket and go. I had a Davis derringer years ago; in .32 acp. The two are quite similar in constuction, though the Cobra seems a bit heavier.

The only chance of concealing it is if the person doesn't pat you down in which case carry a better gun (.45 Colt, .44 Magnum, etc.) in loose clothing.

i had the same kind w/ black grips. i found out that if you use high velocity rounds on a d22 such of those vaulue packs and stingers...shots after shots at only 15yrds i will have to aim alot lower...which is very ridiculous...when it comes to sss60grain aguila...the d22 will give a bad recoil but will send 60gr leads right on the target

9 hits with a .22 is better than 9 misses with a .45. A .22 can also do major damage at close range. It has a tendency to bounce around inside the body therefore creating more damage.

I'm so happy you said that (the bouncing around) because noone realizes that and when i say that people look at me like im dumb... especially with a head shot...if put in the correct spot at close range its more devastating than some other calibers...
