Practice Asvab Test Software by Recon TestPrep is also a very good way to get prepared for the test. It's downloadable software that has 16 timed practice tests.

@Videos4USArmy Took a practice exam on the first try and got a 49 then my recruiter had to leave. I took the practice exam again with my new recruiter a month later and got a 60 . I am discouraged that the practice exams are brain teasing. Are the practice exams harder in comparison to the actual exam?

Use the McGraw-Hill bolks if you want to score well. There is comprehensive information there and many practice tests. One version has a CD ROM to help you with the CAT-ASVAB

@dontsay10 ya it def is. my Final Score on the AFQT was a 72 and my asvab sub scores was Gt:115 and all the other ones 110+ i cant remember them all. and I got a Contract for 13Foxtrot Fire support specialist ship 20110713 to Fort Sill. Um the book def helped on the mech and electrical and ya. just study hard and u will do good.

I got Rea's Asvab 6th Edition. It came with a cd and it has a ton of tests you could take divided into each section as follows General Science, Arithmetic Reason, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Auto and Shop information, Mathematics Knowledge, Mechanical Comprehension, and Electronics information. I bought this book from Barnes and nobles for just 25 dollars. I would recommend this book to anyone preparing for the asvab.

I found that the actual test wasnt as bad as the practice tests i took. I got through the test with a breeze, i think you will do just fine man.

The best book to get is "asvab basic traing for the Aqft.... "(Armed Forces Qualification Test).. Basically this book goes over the main thing s for you pass the bullshit Asvab... Forgetb all the science and mechanic shyt. if you do not pass the AQft you will fail... so just try mastering the AQFT and you will be successful :D. The world is yours homie!!!

No problem. And you will learn from it, if you take your time. You however will not learn if you peak in take a subject and you're done. You have to work at it, when you study, put it has your main priority... I learned that the hard way! Lol

Actually. I have learned ALLOT of math from these ASVAB books. I am horrible at math, but these ASVAB books have increased my ability to do it.

I have been home schooled all my life... Well, actually two weeks of my life was public school. But I was simply not ready to take in information. I have jumped far ahead. Some learn at different timings.

Well it's not that we people who practice can't pass the first time. But just to be sure you pass it the first time and get the highest score possible. The ASVAB study guides prepare you for it so it is less stressing and you know what you're doing.

After failing the ASVAB you have to wait another month to take it again. We want to make sure that doesn't happen.

i took ASVAB twice already..the computer version..for the marine corps...failed twice by 2 points . I didnt study so i blame myself...the test is pretty basic...only part that had me going was the SHOP part....im 17..so i just plan on retaking it in the summer wen im 18 so that way i dont have to depend on my mom to sign all these papers.

Oh haha. I think I will pass. I have to get a 50 or up. Because I am home schooled Graduate. My grades on the practice tests get better and better. After 8 months I should be completely prepared. I am going 11X, so I can get minimum score. Anyways, did you graduate with a HSD?

No lol im 17 im currently in my senior year of HS so i graduate in june...I plan on taking the test again in july. Even though i failed twice i dont want to give up cause its my dream to be in the military and i dont want to get discouraged. both times i had a 29...im shooting for a 55 though cause i heard more jobs are available in that range...i want infantry in the marine corps.

My A.D.D has incredibly decreased these past years. When I was diagnosed with it, I could not concentrate, think, or sit. I always was out doing stuff. Also I used to play video games. Though I still do have A.d.d. but I have learned to control my thoughts, believe it or not, A.D.D people are very creative, due to the fact there mind is always constantly thinking about random things. CONTINUED: ASVAB study's, chores, and the ability to stay physically fit. Just make sure you keep up with your ASVAB study's and work outs. Also, study 30 minutes a day (if you can) :). Trust me, I know exactly how you feel!
