Comparing Lupe to Wayne and others that follow in wayne's footsteps is unfair. Thats like comparing the winner of a 5th grade spelling bee to the winner of an ivy league debate. Its just not fair to the 5th grader. Any unbiased listener would have to say that Wayne has some nice punchlines but a 5th grader could listen and understand everything he raps about. Lupe on the other is for the intelligent, those that like to use their minds. Lupe is for those that cherish knowledge over money.

I feel you but that mainstream biz is what made Jay, if you know what I mean. He's the most successful rapper of all time, and no knock to you the transition between RD to the Lifetimes was huge, but as a result you get The Blueprint, the perfected mixture of both. It's stuff like Kingdom Come and American Gangster that puts him down but people don't realize even his worst stuff is good, and usually better than most. Jay is a mainstream lyricist, just a different way of looking at it.
