I remember Michael saying in an interview that he saw some people or kids (I can't exactly remember so sorry for any mistakes) inventing dance moves, and he saw the Moonwalk, so he said something like he enhanced and improved it. :D

I think it was the interview where he kept licking his lips LOL. :P

@joejonascuteful Black children actually invented the moonwalk, however the first adult male to do this was Bill Bailey in 1955.

Jeffrey Daniels then invented an illusion similar to the moonwalk called "the backslide", however Michael called it the moonwalk when the backslide was sort of different when your attempting to go forward but an elevator is pulling you back, now a moonwalk is when the ground is pulling you back like you're on the moon. So in theory yes it should be called a moonwalk.

@joejonascuteful However, Michael then came to Michael "Boogalo Shrimp" Chambers to perfect the blackslide/moonwalk, when you stand right on the toe instead of flat on your toes...  the higher you are on the toe, the better the illusion will be, I found this out on Michael Chambers' MySpace, and daaaaaarn, Michael Chambers can dance.
